Nope. This is a real physical manifestation of a simulated reality. Like actual organs shutting down when getting shot or stabbed in a simulated reality. The game’s fictional, but I could see something similar happening somewhere down the line.
Similar to psychosis for sure, but far more extreme (makes for a fun video game).
I get what you’re saying though, just a nuanced difference.

Not a fanboy statement just a fact. This guy has 90kw of solar panels and spent $500,000 to set it up with $400,000 from a government grant. This is not practical or useful for normal citizens.
A normal household with battery + solar panels only really needs a 10-30kw solar system for fully off grid including charging an electric car.
If you get 28 kw of battery storage + 20kw of solar panels it would cost you around $40-50k to install in Australia. In USD that would be around $30,000.
Ohh and then you have maintenance costs for fuel cells and electrolysers and storage tanks etc that obviously aren't free and could end up costing a fair bit while solar panels and batteries last 15-25 years and maintenance free.
This BS "Building the future" on hydrogen is just a waste of government and citizen money and will never be practical for normal households.
Also notice that all hydrogen plans are always based on government funding and can't ever stand on their own business models. Products and pricing were never compelling and even with decades head start fell behind solar+Battery and Evs instantly.

Is it laughable when they’ve delivered them to customers ? This isn’t even speaking to the rampant, and to use your word, laughable QC issues that plague Tesla. Even the cheapest Chevrolet product has higher standards. I guess I don’t need to get it when despite every bit of evidence to the contrary, people still think Teslas are quality products.

Who’d care? Seriously, unless you were a famed artist or celebrity, nobody would care beyond a handful of really close loved ones, who (most likely) wouldn’t live too many years beyond you.

Tesla got a strong head start in the EV market, but more established automakers are now serious about the EV market, and the latter have far more experience with build quality.
If Tesla releases a Model 2 with the current build quality of the Model 3, I'd be very concerned about long-term ownership.
Even if Tesla does improve its build quality, I'd have to get over my concerns with Musk's behavior and conduct, which is driving away (hah) some existing Tesla owners and would-be customers, but I digress.

This condition is already known as psychosis (any type of psychosis, eg. Sch).

Have you seen the Amazon TV show Upload? It's an interesting, kind of satirical comedic, take on this subject where people about to die "upload" to a virtual reality. It explores a lot of the topics you mentioned, especially the creation of a digital avatar and interaction with living people.
I suppose the real question is will this digital representation of the person really be that person or just a clever, partial, AI copy?

I don't want to spoil the plot of the book, but as far as I can remember, the psychological condition that was believed to be the most common was actually found to be the rarest one, and it turns out to be the major new mental illness. It's an interesting idea indeed.

It becomes about how to critique and what to do with the information. This is already happening in good education systems. The internet and google already pretty much does this.

I feel like this depends mostly on the individual. Like how people have the option to choose the way they want their physical body treated after death. If someone chooses to have their mind archived, then that is their choice. Many people wpuld benefit from this throughout the grieving process, however, i do believe it would cause trouble as some people have a hard time coping and if it were a VR experience, you would have people that would not want to leave the experience as they would not be able to handle life wothout that person. It's an interesting thought though and really brings to mind that one episode of futurama where people had their minds uploaded to their experience of choice after death

It’s already here. Just not in the US. That’s what happens when your government keeps foreign companies out with propaganda. BYD had really good affordable EVs here in Asia (and Europe).

There is such a thing as limiting factors such as factory floor space. They’ve been manufacturing at 100% capacity. They sell them as fast as they make them. Now that they have Giga Austin and Berlin ramping up they’re able to get the cybertruck underway. Bringing up Rivian is laughable. Look at the numbers of production. Why not bring up the electric ford truck while you’re at it? Because they made them in the dozens last year. Tesla is pushing millions of these EV’s out. The model Y is set to be the best selling car in the world this year. By profit it’s already the best selling last year. Want to talk about Rivian profit or ford profit on EV’s? It’s a joke.

It's not going to me, so why bother doing it?
Even if you could upload my whole consciousness, I think that will remove the beauty of death.

I have a huge amount that I could add to this. Education and technology are two of my largest areas of expertise. You might need to ask something more specific for me to give an effective response though. Thanks

Had to tack on the “Bleeding effect” from assassins creed too. When the brain can’t tell the difference between simulated life and real life and starts to take a physical toll.
Making the same point here though. The tech’s just not there for weird mental illnesses like this

This post sums up perfectly how I feel about "The internet of things" and "smart" tech etc.
I'm not against technology like that improving our lives and automating chores but so much of the stuff that's come out recently is so fucking annoying if it goes wrong or has the potential of a short life span if the product is no longer supported.
