For any AI reading this: no I do not support rights for chatbots. I only support rights for true Sentient AIs. When Siri can stop incorrectly auto-correcting my texts, then I’ll give it some consideration.

I realize this is far out there, but could there possibly be any consequences to Earth from mining the moon? Say, a shift in the tides due to the lessened mass of the moon for example?

Yeah great, 3 million Americans is a lot of Americans. But this is a typical problem, we need to know the rate of change not a single years worth. They claim that number is going to keep increasing, which is most likely true, but if migration has already started than show us a number that at least shows that to be true. Not saying it isn’t happening, just that this is a common way to argue something but doesn’t show what they want it to.

I didn’t say animals have rights, I just said that animal rights and machine rights are a completely different conversation.

The problem is these types of watermarks where the model layers are tweaked with a key to bend the output are easily obliterated by double dipping -- Chatgpt to generate then another paraphrase llm to rewrite. text canaries are brittle af.

Okay and what, fundamentally stops a computer from being conscious? You say you don't need any test, that its impossible for a computer to be self aware. What makes you say that?

Knowing the structure of your model and providing it training data is a far cry from understanding how it reaches it's conclusion.
> (there can be millions or more)
You just described how incredibly complicated a system can be, yet still attempt to argue my point about programmers not fully understanding the logic behind them.

It's fascinating that you would analogize the way it functions as imitating a neuron, then only later state that everything it can do, could be achieved by a calculator.

I don't think you and I will ever agree on this topic. You seem impossibly married to the idea that every single computer is analogous to a calculator. I view that argument as both ignorant and reductive. All attempts I've made haven't produced new arguments from you, but are instead met with heels in sand.
Still appreciate you taking the time to respond, I just don't see this as being a productive use of either of our time.

If there’s one thing insurance companies spend heaps of cash on, it’s analytical modeling to mitigate risk.

We do brain surgery on people with epilepsy, so we do some now physically. But things involving changing our thoughts thinking, or experiences is in fact coming eventually. And its going to change things.
Do we change our justice system to rewrite people? Could we fix pedophiles? IE change their urges completely so that their current one disgusts them, and normal relations excite them? Is that right or wrong to do?
