Unfortunately observing the article seems to change its state so it's hard to get the full picture

And yet people are moving to Miami! If home insurers factored in climate change risk into their premiums, the majority wouldn’t be able to afford home coverage in South Florida.

Sounds similar to the quantum theory I’m learning about in my Chemistry class. Schrodinger’s cat.

Yeah, the three people that use Bing are a huge threat to Google's 96% share of the worldwide search market.

There's not much to not understand there, as well as there's not much to understand.

While quantum computers can tackle jobs that would take traditional computing much longer to solve, the main issue for me is that they can be prone to errors, and potentially lots of errors. Would you want your doctor to work with a quantum computing device while performing surgery on you? "We were expected to take out a kidney but instead the computer had us remove your penis. Sorry about that". How about putting a man or woman on the moon? "Gee, we almost got it right, but unfortunately since we were using a quantum computer the astronauts are floating off into the endless reaches of space since we didn't stick that landing trajectory".

People in businesses will write out some bullet points and an AI will expand them into essays.
On the other end, people without the time to read much will have an AI summarize those essays in bullet points.
After a half century or so, everyone will get it through their thick heads that this is stupidly inefficient and just exchange the bullet points.

I hadn't realized ChatGPT had real time data now and live internet crawlers why didn't they announce that? Seems big.

Sensationalism. From the court transcripts/ recordings the judges think the plaintiffs are lunatics with barely a case to bring let alone decide anything major and overarching. This sub is straight burning garbage of autoposts

Yeah, I was thinking the same after playing a bit with Bing's chat mode. It was more useful before they limited it, but it's still fairly useful.
I could easily see an AI handling a lot of lvl1 cases. Especially if it gets access to some logging and can perform operations such as password resets and the like. Properly configured it will probably be faster and more reliable than a human in a lot of cases.

Or they are aromantic. That's fine too. But I don't think what they are asking for (artificial emotions) is unrealistic. Maybe a bit distant though.

There is no risk. The court will rule in favor of the tech companies. I'm surprised they even were willing to listen to this case from this perspective. It's almost like they have an agenda to give more power to tech companies.
The case should have not be heard to begin with from the fame of reference it's being presented.

Google sucks.
You used to be able to get hundreds of pages of pure search results. Now you get 1 page with 25% ads, 50% google-generated nonsense and maybe 5-6 results.

And the gov’t keeps subsidizing flood insurance in high risk zones that private companies won’t touch for obvious good reason, so many people may feel more comfortable living in those places than they otherwise would without affordable flood insurance.

That's more likely to be altered with chemicals rather than surgery.
It's also possible you have felt it but weren't able to recognize or label the emotion properly. That's also common.

Yeah, I understand. I just meant that Bing has had a rather bad week in the press and gone viral as a meme for runaway/absurd AI trope.

Russia/Soviets invented a lot of amazing technology which they could not capitalize on either. I have no respect for their ability to commercialize their tech as they seem to be incapable of producing commercial grade software and other. Didn't they just close their AI research facility in Edmonton?
