No worries, it would be a death sentence to leave a lot of the trails in that park. You Def can also get gorgeous pictures from the trails which is awesome. Glad you got to see it

Centuries. Being an (apparently) unprotected coastline, I'd wager longer still, as young plants would be eroded by weather/water and eaten by animals or just straight up not get enough nutrients.
It's insane just how long it can take some areas to regrow after being cleared (or in this case, probably not existing to begin with)

Its the Savannah, characterised by sparsely populated trees. Nutrient and soil moisture availability are usually the limiting factors affecting the biomass growth in savannas, and overall biomass is impacted by competition, fire, grazing, and harvesting.
