Makes sense, I completely forgot about the whole Animal thing.Like Birds and Berry Bushes.

I would imagine an animal ate the seeds from that type of tree, then traveled and pooped it out, then the tree grew there.

I always wonder just how lonely Trees come to be.Where they part of a grouping that got cut? Did someone plant it? Did a Seed somehow travel way out there?

10 miles round trip. That's not terrible. Just bring plenty of water (I ran out) and some snacks, take a nice long break at the lakes, then hike back after you've consumed enough food. There's no rush to finish.

The trail splits so you can either hike down to one of the lakes and a campground, or you can keep going up the mountain like this person has done.

Lone tree shots have some secret magic. Just something about 'em.

Is the hike you’re talking about to the location this picture was taken from? This vantage point is amazing and I would much rather hike there than the lakes themselves.

That sounds. Far. I should probably start with something shorter 😅

I'm over on the SK/MB border now. Close enough to Manitoba to feel like I have some culture, but just far enough to get the low Saskatchewan taxes.

5 miles to the lake but 3800 ft of elevation gain to do it. The lake is also about 1k ft drop from the top of the trail so you have to gain elevation both directions. Gorgeous area though and a lovely permitted backpack (so you know you won't be crowded out)
