Part of being a photographer is just knowing you can't convey what it feels to be standing there taking in the grandeur of the view.
I bet you are a great one too. A shot that wide needs special lenses. 11mm on FF?

People need to add the location to titles. This is California, US I believe.

It’s in Page, AZ. Near the UT boarder

I agree with you! I’ve seen awesome places that my photos are very lackluster

I miss this place and all the stray cats that come up to you at the benches :)

That's awesome...I've lived in Arizona over half my life, mostly in show low or right outside it... Where is this place?

It didn't help that I had already spent 4 days of hiking 6-10 miles a day in Death Valley. My calves felt like steel and the pain was unreal. Would do again though.

Now that I have been there. Every picture of horseshoe bend doesn't do justice to just how large it really is.

I did the same. Forced my wife to get up early and we ran the trail to get about 15min of pics before it was ruined by the sun. Not a cloud in sight. Pics were worth it because we went back with the rest of the family the the harsh shadows killed it.

What!? It wasn't windy? I don't think I've ever visited there on a calm day. Lucky you!

I just watched a documentary on the making of that album and they talked about the diver photo. I wish I could remember where they said the shot was taken. It might actually be this place.

I wanted to go here so bad when I was in Death Valley back in November. Just didn't have the time and road closures were making things difficult.

Yeah even in the years I lived there it changed. Became over crowded. I hate to say it but when Covid happened and tourists didn’t come, it was the most special Hawaii had been for me in all the years I’d been there. Dead quiet. Empty beaches. More of a real Hawaii vibe.

It’s just north of June Lake, on the eastern side of the Sierras.
