Me and the girlfriend at the time (wife now) did this hike when we were in Bali. At first I was pissed when she woke me up so early yo get ready. Even fell and scraped my wrist on the way up. The guides were quick to help and bandage it up. Still have the scars. But in the end it was so worth it seeing that sunrise from the top. The pictures were amazing.

Thank you. I haven’t visited Myvatn but just looked it up and it’s spectacular. Hopefully I’ll visit one day

Beautiful photo. The weather was dogshit when I went there, but it was great nonetheless. My favourite part of Iceland was the region around lake Myvatn, so little tourists (at least back then) and so much stuff to see.

Like what? I've been there in the early nineties and definitely felt the eerie vibe you mentioned. Especially at night. Such a beautiful area.

Did that hike back in the early 2000s. I remember these younger Indonesian kids following me in their flip flops crushing it.

I’m glad you thought this. I get inspiration from paintings and often look for painterly scenes/ try to emulate them in my work
