Spent my honeymoon and then my 10th anniversary there. Hopefully it doesn't take us another 10 years to get back. One of my favorite spots on the planet.

Sadly, although pretty, all this grass is mostly invasive. California’s ‘Irish hills’ are only a recent phenomenon. We’d actually have hills of wild flowers previously.

Reply to Foz do Iguaçu - Brazil, 3000x4000 [OC] by Drogadinho777
Foz do Iguaçu is the place where the Iguaçu river meets the Paraná river, that's about 10 km northwest of this point. "Foz" is a Portuguese word that means river mouth, the point where a river ends. This place is Cataratas do Iguaçu, the Iguaçu Falls.

Yes yes everyone will say here that Jekyll is beautiful but I find the water to be very silty since the island is pretty much a marsh.
Don't get me wrong, I love the beaches in Georgia but I agree there are a lot of pretty beaches and parks along the east coast that don't require money to get on.
I will say that two things I do love about Jekyll are the club and the annual Christmas lights. Very beautiful and when the club is lit up during Christmas it looks amazing.

The Alps are so friggin beautiful.
I recommend everyone to hike Tour du Mont Blanc, especially Europeans that can easily and cheaply fly to Geneva with a bus ride to Chamonix. It’s a very easy hike for big parts of the trail with some tougher sections, mostly due to longer distances between the refugees, but those aren’t very troublesome considering you don’t have to carry almost any kilos on your back. A camel back, some rain gear and a camp stove for lunch when needed (or you can just eat at the refugees) and you’re set
You sleep in refugees and get served dinner and breakfast (and sometimes you even get a lunch pack) and you pay on average 50€ a night for this. The whole route takes about 10 - 14 days depending on your tempo and it’s worth every single minute (and you can easily do sections of it if you want too, like Chamonix to Val Veni where you can take a bus back to Chamonix).
Everyone you meet will likely by super friendly and the people running the refugees are lovely.
Absolutely mesmerising views everywhere you look.

Never go there on any national holidays, if you’re lucky enough to find parking then the part of the trail going to the lookout is lousy with people, Tim Hortons cups and dog poo
