I went on a hike out there in early spring 2012. It was absolutely beautiful. For the majority of the sixteen miles, the only other humans I saw were in airplanes.

Be sure to get some pie in Julian while you are on your way out there.

Utah landscapes blew my mind the first time Iexperienced it! Having spent all of my 49 years on the east coast, I was only familiar with mountains covered in greenery. And nothing as massive as the views in Zion NP!

I flew into Vegas and planned to drive through Utah to North Rim, AZ. Had I known how spectacular the Utah landscape is, I certainly would have factored that into my schedule. It was literally life changing in how I view the beauty on this planet. Not to mention the incredible views in all that open space.

Anyone planning a trip who's never been, set aside extra time to soak in its beauty!
