You can get to it by visiting the campground here
Then hike to Cinder Cone from the trailhead there.

It really is in the eye of the beholder. Vast expanses of nothing is something I love. It's filled with life. Even in winter.

I'd imagine you could do if you're experienced enough, but it's not necessarily something I'd recommend

I live in Utah. It’s a great place to live. However local news agencies have stated that the great salt lake is due to dry up in 5 years unless major preventative action is put into place. The GSL has a bunch of heavy metals at the bottom of it in the dirt. Metals like arsenic. So in other words, if it dries up, winds will blow the toxic dirt all of the state and probably other states as well. So yeah take that into consideration before actually moving here lol 😅

It's really difficult to judge the NT based off from what one might see on the ice roads. Which would be ice and snow. It's gorgeous in the summer!

You can snorkel it any time of the year assuming that the weather is ok. Winter does tend to have some west and northern swells that are larger but I’ve found perfect days almost any time of the year depending.

I was in canyonlands during winter time and no one was around. It was so overwhelming, beautiful, gigantic that I couldn't stop crying while I was hiking around.
