Yes!! "Real" photographers do like clouds, they add a very dramatic look to the sky. However, "real" photographers have a plan and an idea of what they want to capture when they go to a sight. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate with what I wanted to capture, the image I had in my head. I am not at all disappointed in this image as I mentioned in the title. Hey thanks for the comment!

Yup, you are exactly right. September and October in the Enchantments looks just like this. Larches are a deciduous conifers so they loose their chlorophyll just like other deciduous plants! Their needles are also surprisingly soft and spurt out of funny little bulbs.
