It reminds me of the lush cliffs on Kauai, they both get a whole lot of rain

We get landslides every time it rains to one degree or another. Lava is very crumbly.

It’s crazy how lush it is considering the extreme verticality.

There are thousands of bananas. You just can't see 'em. Cliff's too tall.

And if you get carsick easily, don’t take the ferry from Maui to Molokai either. I knew I was in trouble when I saw locals wearing those wrist bands to prevent motion sickness.

I just hiked it on November 1st. Not peak season, for sure, but it wasn't super busy. I applied for, and got, a permit in their lottery. Though if you got to the Angel's trailhead before 10am, there wasn't a ranger to check, anyway. Highly recommend the hike. Unless you hate heights like the two women I met. Another guy and I carefully guided them back to the trailhead after they got to a point where they froze from being freaked out.

Getting to the place was also kind of hairy with the city style SUV I had there, if memory serves me well.
