Should have been a national park :( Sad to see it consumed over my life time, but nature would reclaim Sedona if we vacated it. It would be super truly to backpack through overgrown gift shops and resorts.

I haven't been here, but under the right lighting conditions and the right kinds of rocks and algae, these could be true or near-true colours.
I've seen similarly wild colour combinations right out of the camera doing landscape photography over the years.

Its a species of Eriophorum. "Tussock Grass" or "Cotton Sedge." Its in the Sedge family Cyperaceae.
We get a ton of it in New England, a lot of the Greenland plants do well here at the higher elevations.

No, but the snake is within (~20 miles) of this. That water is a tributary.
