Clearly. We always have electricians do our work. They just finished our whole house. I’m not an idiot. I just wanted to swap out one light switch without waiting for weeks and calling them back. The breaker is off and the wires capped so I’ve taken the safety measures necessary. Unless I’m missing one and you actually want to be helpful in your commentary.

You should fill that crack, preferably with a polymer-based filler. Then as this is a bathroom, you should have sealed the whole floor with a tanking kit before tiling. That way, if water finds its way through cracks in the grout, it won’t find its way through the cracks in the concrete.

I'm not an tile expert by any means, but imo that is definitely going to need to be decoupled.
It's a not a huge sub, but r/tile does exist, try asking over there.

I would ask myself the question “why is there air movement there?” first.

Personally, I have a high tolerance for errousness/imperfection, and I just skim-off the pronounced bits with a putty blade, rough sand, then prime&paint.
I tend to fuel my OCD a bit more when it comes to sanding, so I'm either in, or entirely out ;)

Looks fantastic. Just curious, is there any concern that the square edge will get beat up compared to one rounded a bit?

Personally I would use a mix of Elmer’s glue and sand but that would also work

I don't think you can tell much about this house from the pictures other than its more than 40 years old

This is why it’s a skilled trade…… you need to know what you are doing. Doing it wrong can or not knowing what you are doing can get yourself killed or lead to a fire.

Yea I flipped the main breaker to be safe. Flipping it back on didn’t do anything for that circuit and all the switches are correct.

Not an expert by all means but did turn off your breakers before you started? And in case you didn’t, you might have tripped it. Check your box for any switches that are facing the wrong way or even slightly misaligned.

The US is a real big place with hugely differing housing ages and styles. Especially on the east coast cities are pretty darn old. Not "oldest things in Europe" old but "well before America was a country" old.
Examples:
-
Brick and stone home in Philidelphia more inline with what is pictured above.
-
[Even in newer states like California you can find some old homes] (https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/460-29th-St-San-Francisco-CA-94131/15183211_zpid/).

As i clicked on this i thought i bet someone says something crazy like re build the wall. Top comment. This sub cracks me up, least its not his wall cracking. Ill see myself out
Bammer7 t1_ja0e9vq wrote
You would be amazed at how effective just wiping down the wall with some light cleaner and warm water is. If you really feel you need to sand it, get some fine grit drywall sandpaper or screens and a pole sander. Then just lightly go over it to smooth it out. Make sure you get any dust off the wall before you paint it.
