When someone knocks at your door, it's supposed to interrupt your work? Same thing with a doorbell.
When you answer the door, there's a interruption from what your doing.

You plan on not answering the door? You dont want to answer the door or be bothered by the sound of it knocking?

Or is the noise scaring the wits out of you?

The short of it, you are fine use them.

The longer version. Because the extensions are most like AL wire, or tinned. When you attach them to copper and they will oxides faster. Now that being said, the oxidation will take awhile and the way shit is made these days, the wire will most likely outlast the door bells. But if you want to extend the life of the wire, you can buy Noalox (or some type of anti-oxidant inhibitor) to add to the wires when you make the connection to prevent this.

This is true as well. But IMHO, being a dumb ass and installing 20 gage wiring for a 220v stove is someone’s own personal problem and we shouldn’t have to baby proof everything for the stupidest dumb asses in society.

I also shouldn’t have to get my deck design signed off on just because Billy the dumb shit down the road built his out of toothpicks and killed grandma.

People need to have some personal responsibility. If they don’t know how to do something properly, hire it out or find someone that can help. But overregulation is not the answer.

Put up a “no soliciting” sign. If a solicitor knocks, answer the door and politely ask for the contact info of their direct supervisor. Tell them you will be filing a complaint. Call promptly and explain that your sign was ignored. It will take time, but word will eventually get out.

As another commenter said it is a little shabby chic. It's not 100% my style but I love one stroke painting and I think if done with taste and choosing the right colours it will turn out amazing. The reason why you don't see many of these pieces around? I don't know. My grandma had a beautiful painted bench. I would love to have a handpainted cabinet. I handpainted a woven bamboo mirror in my toilet (i actually went over it to try and make it better, because I bought it thrifted and already painted by a kid). this guy and their handpainted cabinet company here do amazing job with one stroke painting, I hope it's a good inspiration for you. Oh and don't forget to post pictures when it's done!

Seriously. People think they need to ask permission to modify what they own??? I thought this was America…..

I can’t even imagine “pulling permits” for some of the shit people post in this forum. Moving a electrical outlet, redoing some under sink plumbing, building a deck, remodeling a bathroom…..who is actually pulling permits for this kind of stuff?

What's the area around the door like? Anything to absorb sound? It's going to hit the floors, walls and ceiling and dampening around there can really help.

To give you an idea, I had this attic with about a 20' long, heavily insulated area big enough to crawl through and you had to yell to hear someone at the other end. Now that was fiberglass insulation, but it gives you an idea of how absorption around the area can help modulate noise.
