that fitting was literally just a hole! I poked an allen wrench through it and it just hit the cabinet. We solved the issue- see edit above

I replaced it with a hybrid 50 gallon; it's much lighter.

Being in the Netherlands, bike repair shops are abundant, however, they don't seem to be willing to deal with a job like this. I have asked around already. Might consult a car mechanic if I have no other feasible options remaining.

> You could buy a 3000 dollar metal lathe and pair the drill shaft down a bit.
a normal drill bit is tool steel and very difficult to cut. i spoze a percussion bit might be easier.
cheapest real option is to get the correct size drill.
if you were a real hack you could change the shank from round to triangular using a bench grinder to fit in the smaller drill machine.

Any tips on how to anchor? It’s all tile behind the cabinet.

I took a peek with a borescope and there's no buildup.
It's just a heavy unit.

SDS and SDS plus shank diameter is 10mm, I've never tried it but maybe you could chuck one up in a regular chuck?

Just cut it. The other side of lathe is more then enough to strengthen the wall. I wouldn't think twice about it.

Yes, I have tried doing so. I've managed to keep the stand in place to try to undo the bolt itself by simply holding it in place with my foot. That technique has worked well enough that the only constraint became how much tension I could exert onto the alan wrench I was using.

Weird. 25 years in construction and I have never seen this.
The nukeulator can be suspended entirely by it's bracket, but it would almost certainly sag. The only theory I have is the cabinets were replaced after the microwave was installed, but that makes even less sense.

There is probably a bracket that it is sitting in on the back. Usually a long bracket with a channel the microwave sits on the bottom. Try lifting the microwave up and out at the same time. If it is wedged in you probably have to pull it out harder than you normally would

Reply to comment by SnackPocket in Can I drill a hole in this door, and are there open/closable hole caps I can add to both sides? by rolliejoe
If they are single glazed doors from before 1940 then it is easy to remove a panel of the glass. After that doors became much less servicable.

Did you follow the instructions on the amount of water to use?
S_Orbital OP t1_j6g5hg4 wrote
Thank you for all the suggestions! I didn't expect to get so many suggestions. I think the first thing that I will try is getting a hollow tube to increase the tension on the bolt. Unfortunately a lot of the suggestions are not practical in this case due to the limited amount of space to extract the bolt, or due to cost concerns.

And yes, I have tried to twist the stand instead of the bolt, but the issue is that the bolt is stuck in the stand itself, so twisting it simply twists the bolt without undoing anything.
Additionally, I have no power tools. If I did have any, the way I would go about it would be to grind the stand off, as anything else would not be able to work within the tight space.

Perhaps a DIY sound panel mounted to the door? Foam board insulation, cloth cover.
