I like your idea, maybe add some weight to it. Leg weights around the circumference of the circle maybe.

Fucks sake. You mean, all this time I could have been commuting from Mississippi to New York to make a killing doing simple plumbing work? Meh. Probably too much licensing and permit requirements.

This is the correct answer. Those ears can bend a few times before they break, just bend it as little as possible and use any kind of pliers that can reach it. It'll only take two or three full turns to remove.

Nice, I found the 3m dynatron seam sealer at autozone nearby! Thanks for the pro tip!

Yeah, that's why I said it doesn't make it back to the panel.
But if that were true, the number you would read with one probe on black and one on white would be zero, or close to zero.
Edit assuming you see 120v from black to copper.

Everything is either 120 or zero. Someone pointed out that there is probably an open neutral upstream which is confirmed by a diagram we made with the circuit when I moved in.

Ok, I did a bit more reading into using rivets. Main question is: will a 3/16” aluminum rivet be weatherproof, or do you need silicon over it?

What is your voltage from the switch terminals to neutral in the light switch?

Thanks! Just put up all four samples with washing off and drying off the brush on a towel in between each. Didn’t want to make another trip to the store tonight to buy anything, so glad that a damp brush was sufficient

It's made to help seal steel pieces together. Look at the 3M brands.

Vampliers are the best thing I have found for turning a broken screw. They grab way better than any other needle nose pliers I’ve tried. Saved me so many times.

New York?! The only place with prices as bad as California, or even worse? No wonder you don't want to hire a plumber! Good luck with the project!

I would go in behind it with needle nose pliers and back it out a bit . Then, switch over to locking pliers and twist from the fromt

Our well is 220 ft deep. And I was thinking sediment too.
We are in southern Midwest, the Ozarks.

That I’m not sure. Something like that is hard to diagnose without being there and seeing it.

Thanks man you've been super helpful. My question is why doesn't the rest of the outlets show that open neutral on the circuit downstream? Is it because I separated the two circuits at the switch?
