If I’m looking at this correctly, I’d remove the rigid foam and great stuff the joints behind it for better air sealing, then place the rigid back into place.

Well the actual thing of what you're looking for is a slider preferably with a pan head(I think). But they're expensive, especially so for automated ones. Might help you with designs and ideas though.

I’d use either JB Weld or high temp oven door silicone in the hole.
If using JB Weld etc and you want to be able to remove the screw in future, use a toothpick to spread a layer inside the hole, lightly oil the screw and wind it in, compacting the JB weld around the top of the hole so it’s a good fit. Leave to set. The screw can be unscrewed leaving a new thread because the resin won’t stick to the oil.
Same with the silicone but the thread won’t be as strong.

Can confirm. Put drop of superglue on denim to stop fraying. Unexpected exothermic.

grout is theoretically waterproof and rigid, where caulk is waterproof and flexible. the flexibility is because it will go through extreme swelling/shrinking cycles and over time will separate from its surface and eventually fail. grout does not have this problem and is more permanent.

You don't. You grout the tiles there.

I mean, 270 degrees? That’s just 90 degrees with extra steps 🤣

What is the advantage of grout over caulk here? From what I read you should caulk corners, but I’m a total amateur

Southeast Texas builder here, roughly the same atmosphere. You'll be good with the paper in. You shouldn't have humidity issues. Keep the second bat as well as it insulates your floor from the garage

Almost all CA glue is a fire hazard with cotton, especially fine cotton fibers.

re grout is the way.
alternately, you could clean it out and fill with epoxy. get yourself a grout removal tool, and get as much out as possible. then put tape on each surface, leaving maybe 1/16 from the tile edge for epoxy spillover. you want to overfill just a little bit, and when the epoxy starts to get tacky (but before its fully cured) you peel the tape, and trim up the epoxy overfill with a razor blade to make a nice edge. ezpz

The Jackoboards are waterproof only after the joints have been tended to, unfortunately.
The JACKOBOARD® Plano Construction boards provide a completely waterproof substrate for tiling that will not allow moisture to penetrate into the fabric of the building. Tiling can begin as soon as the joints between boards are sealed with waterproof tape and cement-based single part flexible tile adhesive.
