Reply to Missed Jury Duty by SopheliaofSofritown
You don't hear very often about people getting punished for missing jury duty,. I imagine if it's the 1st time it's happened and it sounds like you have a good reason. , you would probably be okay

I already pretty much end up tipping 25% at a regular restaurant Unless the server is a complete tool, and 15% at a counter restaurant, so I really don't have an issue with this. It might bring me back down to twenty percent for a table server. In the end it's just a shell game for me.

yes, but it fluctuates wildly depending on weather, economy, and either way it still comes from how much the customer is willing to pay. I'd gladly pay more for food so servers and other tipped staff can earn a living wage and have tipping optional for really exceptional service like most other countries.

Great! I hope they have better coffee this season. That watery swill, and their pathetic donuts will not be missed.

No more tips? Doesn’t work that way in any other state that has equalized minimum wage.

I told them there is sometimes a musty smell when you first turn it on, and that was their suggestion. I’m also curious so can certainly ask.

That's how it is currently. You get server wage, plus tips. If there's no customers and you don't get tips to make up the difference you get paid min wage instead.

We do heartgard and nexgard. Tried simparico trio but gave one dog very bad diarrhea, so stopped even though it was the most convenient. Also tried bravecto but since it’s every 3 months it was hard for us to remember to give/reorder. If teeth are the issue, maybe try smashing the heartgard up in a little unsalted peanut butter/wet food. We do that because one dog won’t eat it otherwise.

I'd like to know what an "A/C cleaning" entails. Spraying some cleaner down your vents and replacing your cabin filter should take care of any musty smell. I could be wrong, but I'd definitely question it.

They will send you a cranky letter in a few weeks. I missed jury duty this summer (accidentally went on the wrong day) and I got a letter a few months later with instructions on how to resolve my issue. They ended up counting my wrong day as service.

I commute on 95 every day. It's not as bad as other major cities I've lived in. You'd think that we lived in mad max fury road based on the posts here lol. I saw much crazier stuff in Philly, Chicago, and NYC.

Congratulations to you and your wife, friend! It all depends on your estate planning goals, but if you’re concerned about avoiding the probate process you can probably skip the trust until you have real estate, because you can always use beneficiary designations for most assets. Wills, POAs, and healthcare documents may be all you need.
HOWEVER, if you do end up creating a will, there will be something called a “testamentary” trust built within it to protect and manage assets for your bambino should you and your wife die before they reach a certain age. This type of trust is under the probate court’s jurisdiction, which many people like or don’t like depending on how they feel about a lot of different things. Often, people will opt to create a revocable living trust with the primary goal of allowing a minor beneficiary’s inheritance to be managed privately, rather than through the court.
If you meet with an estate planning attorney for a consultation, they should be able to get to the heart of what’s most appropriate for you, your wife, and the little one. As the family grows, so should the estate plan. Congratulations again!

Reply to Deer ticks are benefiting from warming winters in the Northeast. That's raising health concerns by 76before84
I’m a land surveyor here in Connecticut and I’ve been pulling them off me all winter, it’s going to be a tough summer with these ticks. I sometimes have one in me on a daily basis, those that only have them on them seldomly shouldn’t freak out too much although they do suck!

My wife and I are about to have our first child. We’re both in our 20’s, and don’t own a home yet. Are we better off having a trust or a will?

Firestone is fine,. If there is still a tire country out there on the border of somers, they always had good service and good prices. They've probably been there 40 years at this point...
