If you ever go out of state you'll need it, NY at least loves to ticket CT drivers for not having them.
RededHaid t1_jcq6p12 wrote
There are cars from other states that don’t require them so a cop isn’t going to take action just because.

Wadsworth Atheneum and the Mark Twain House

It is not a problem, until it is a problem.
If you catch a cop at the wrong time, or you piss them off, a front plate becomes a ticket.
But for the most part it is overlooked.

Perhaps but they’ll pull over cars for no legit reason and bs one on the spot

My problem with the current plan for the project is the extremely high costs of long distance deep bore tunneling and the environmental impacts of going through the Scituate Reservoir, personally i think a better approach would be to split into two lines after New Haven, one heading up towards Hartford and Worcester to Boston, and the other heading eastward towards Providence to Boston a little to the north of the NIMBYs of the shoreline (think North Branford, Killingworth, etc).
With both of these routes using at grade, trenched, or elevated tracks whenever possible and only using deep bore tunneling when no other alternative is possible
As for Hartford to Providence (alongside Waterbury-Danbury-White Plains) I think that higher speed intercity Amtrak Regional service through Willimantic and Coventry RI via a restored Hartford, Providence, & Fishkill (a former rail line that ran from Providence to Fishkill NY via Hartford and Danbury) would be adequate for the distance and

Haven’t had one since I got my car in 2016. Have been pulled over 3 times for speeding and none of the cops every mentioned it. Only time anyone ever said anything is when I tried to get into a state park for free during the summer lol
Creative-Teddy t1_jcq3f6y wrote
I believe it is a secondary offense. Meaning they have to have another reason to pull you over but you can still receive a ticket for no plate.

I haven't run a front plate since 2019.
I see people out there with expired temp tags, on their 5% tinted windshield, on a 05' Altima, going 90 in the breakdown lane on 84.
No one cares, observe Mad Max rules and drive accordingly.

Wouldn’t it make it better in the same way building highways in the 50s(to some extent) made housing cheaper

He's been driving like that for years. I typically see him every day. It's definitely a risk, but he always keeps it in a straight line and the ladders seem secure and don't sway or move.

We had someone from Home Depot come in and give us an estimate for a ~3000 SF house. It was 15k, more or less.

Agreed. How did the van get beneath the art installation in the first place?!

From what we learned it kind of depends on your floor plan. We have one 12,000 BTU unit in our downstairs (800 sq feet) and then we have 8,000 and a 6,000 BTU units in two bedrooms. One could have done the whole upstairs but we wanted the flexibility of being able to close doors if needed.
This ran us about $8-9000 last year. Ductworks was our installer and the equipment is all Carrier.

Real estate agents are blood suckers now, they get a big bump in commission for the same work, they are advising clients to buy at any cost.

Bravo to whatever real estate agent convinced you that a 2300 square foot house is 4600 square feet.
I can't imagine the level of self control it took to tell you that with a straight face.

I agree, most other countries have managed to upgrade their rail network from the 1930's, it is about time we do too.

My point exactly. Depending on who built the house it may have 100amp service, unlikely but there is that chance.
