I've lived in the west end all of my life. That's about the best area you're going to be in for Hartford. Tons of students live in those 2/3 family apartments, a few really diverse bars and restaurants on Farmington Ave/Whitney St intersection. Elizabeth park down the block and of course you can walk to Uconn Law quickly. Never had an issue walking anywhere around that area by myself.

CT has more than its fair share of the stupidly courteous drivers. I had one in front of me come to a complete stop at a green light anticipating the yellow.

Saw someone the other day stop in the middle of a traffic circle. Dead stop. Traffic backed up behind him while he’s just obliviously waving people on in front of him.

I appreciate the nudge, I joined the dashcam sub some time ago while researching them but need to get around to it. I’ll still worry about the idiots though bc I love my car and people and dog…

Get a dashcam. Viofo dashcam can be had for $100. Installing is a easy as sticking it to your windshield and plugging it into outlet. And you never have to worried about idiots.

It's impossible to justify the creations of a capitalist system with socialist explanations.

If we're talking about just a social safety net, and making sure every human being has housing provided as a human right, mcmansions are fine as long as everyone has access to some form of reasonable housing.

The only objection would be that mcmansions are generally wasteful and not built to last.
