You have to go miles to see anything in ct unless you live on the coast, we dealt with a serious opioid epidemic not long ago. I love Ct it’s my favorite state but let’s not throw rocks from a glass house

Good question. USA facts looks like it presents detailed data on a variety of subjects, so I don't think the site is fudging the numbers. My best guess is that the chart rates taxes according the sources they outline (property, fees, income, etc.). It would really help if we had a link to the source of the chart.

Here's a more comprehensive look at taxes state by state. Connecticut is not in the top 10 but is still high:

https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/highest-taxed-states

Here Connecticut is #7 highest in tax burden.

https://wallethub.com/edu/states-with-highest-lowest-tax-burden/20494

Connecticut is clearly not a low tax state, but where we fit in the overall rankings depends on the resource.

What even is this chart? As opposed to states that don’t rely on taxes for revenue? (There are zero).

This is meaningless, and especially so without a nominal value for the x axis. A state could have a budget that is the smallest in the country, but have 100% of revenue come from tax sources, and be at the top of the chart.

I'm not the one bitchen about being over taxed, who bought two homes and owns a motorhome.

I too owned two homes, sold one, wife and I put 2 kids through college, they support themselves.

You don't see me crying I'm overburden, when our son had to have emergency surgery on his brain, I knew he was in good hands at Yale, or when daughter broke her leg didn't have to worry again good hospitals, when she lost her job, she was able to get insurance through the state until she got back on her feet; ALL THAT is because we have a decent quality of life because of those tax dollars.

Now go beat your chest in your new state.

And yes I'm a Vet!

It's called living within your means, saving steadily and ensuring ROI on purchases. My son learned as well, smart enough to get "free college" through academic achievement as opposed to whining. That saved a lot. He ended up quitting, joined the USMC, got free college again, first job out paid 6 figures. Bought a house at 26. Had a plan that didn't include being a little bitch. You should try it, or spend your time bitching about everything like most of this group does. Your choice, don't care. Rent a motorhome? Looked into that ROI and inconvenience lead to purchasing instead.

So you are so burden you can afford to own or rent a motorhome to travel to buy another home and pay cash.

Did you pay any taxes ?

If you were so burden, you couldn't afford to do this, unless mom and dad foot the bill.

Willing to bet you’ve complained about beef prices but then lobby on the internet to shut cattle farming down. They feed the country so simmer down.

You see, federal Covid relief money goes to the state universities which requires less money to come out of the state’s wallet. Would you like some other fifth grade examples?

So you obviously went to a CT school where you were taught critical thinking and analysis. Worth every penny of taxes. Now quietly imagine a world where everyone was able to do the same. Thank you for this!!

Headed out in the motorhome in a few weeks to go buy another house in a free state, cash ...so, uh...what was that question again?Where are we on the list of most heavily taxed states? You're really that stupid? You idiots crack me up. So thin skinned "ew, don't criticize CT" while generally bitching about everything.I recall 9/11, how the state had a large surplus right before, then suddenly was deep in debt the day after...figures don't lie, but liars figure.
"We" have more money in the coffers...now, that's rich lol.

I gave you an up vote. But then reminded it when you went on to say ppl constantly complaining about the taxes. No. We aren’t. I don’t mind one red cent of the taxes I pay, I know I have a very high quality of life in this state, and that isn’t free.
