The median home price in Wilton today is $860k. That's a ~$6k/mo ($72k/yr) mortgage + tax payment today. I would say a $250k household income would be the low end of realistically being able to safely afford that.

Westport, New Canaan, Ridgefield, Weston or Redding probably don't offer much reprieve either. Norwalk would be the only realistic housing option for someone making $60k to live in a bordering town

There’s a difference between a family buying a duplex to rent out as retirement income and a company/wealthy individual that owns a large apartment complex especially the 544 unit concierge cheaping out on spending for repairs.

I have no problems with the state taking the rent money that will be used to pay for the repairs.

She should tell her boss to get fucked and move on. Amazon is a horrific employer. I’m sorry she had to deal with that. It seems on-brand coming from the company that forced their delivery drivers to piss in water bottles to make their numbers.

I used straight talk for couple years back in 2011-2013 it was also using t mobile network and one of my friend was using t mobile. It was okayish around new haven but it wasn’t good when we were going north of the state. I switched to AT&T and it was superb. I would choose Verizon or AT&T

Personally, I hate this. End of life pain relief is very good now and it would be few conditions that are so intolerable to my mind to justify it, and no matter what people say, it will be abused. I read stories where it already is in places that have initiated it — I think Canada? Can’t remember. How to navigate all of this is unknown to me. I don’t think abuse can be 100-percent prevented.

Nobody should be tailgating anyone, but the State roads were plowed perfectly fine at 7am this morning. I'm talking bare pavement and you get people going like 25mph as if their car is going to suddenly do a 900 into the gutter. If you're that afraid to drive due to the presence of snow, when the driving conditions are not actually slick you should probably stay home.

To be honest, some of the shittiest cars I had 10+ years ago were the best in the snow! Everything is about the tires. If you budget accordingly and put even a set of used snow tires on a shitty car, you'll be amazed how planted it feels.
