Sounds like she has to make sacrifices and work hard to keep a high paying job-idk if I agree with the advice that she should find something easier going and less lucrative. Sounds like bad advice.

What are you talking about? My house is less than 3 miles from the beach and we have everything you mentioned above except maybe wind farms

Yeah, idk what OP is talking about. Even side streets in Hartford at that time were passable this morning. Same with the highway. The only way they could have made it better is by dumping a ton of salt and sand on the ground.

The house was built in 1900 and while not perfect (general changes to suit our taste) it was not in need of repairs. Roof is good, newer kitchen appliances and they had even updated the heating from oil to a newer gas setup

I love Bigelow Hollow state park. Nipmuck state forest and Natchaug state forest are both very nice as well.

The housing market is already so heavily distorted, so who knows what will happen. And for what it's worth, outside of New London; out shoreline communities are out of reach of the median Connecticut family.

The environmental damage is already done too. Just because you've got a couple trees in your backyard doesn't mean you haven't caused environmental damage.
