Welcome to CT. Hope you have a safe move. The only thing I can think of is the liquor store is kind of frequently referred to as the packy- short for package store. It throws some people off if they hadn’t heard it before.

Stop & Shop used to have good rotisserie chicken, but they really went WAY down in quality the last couple of years. Pretty much made me stop eating rotisserie chicken period.

Thanks to this thread, now I can't wait to try out the chicken in the other markets.

Annoyances? Focus on them and that’s all you’ll see. I love Connecticut. Grocery stores are well stocked. The infrastructure is better than I’ve seen in other states- some roads suck but mostly pretty good. Gas stations abound. EV charging is improving. Regional differences aside most towns have a real good pizza joint. Most areas have a good local brewery. You don’t need to drive far to get a nice hiking area if you look. Focus on the positives and you’ll see more of them. I wouldn’t recommend focusing on the negative.

I love the “this isn’t some hollywood movie” because pretty much everyone who’s shot a firearm knows hollywood is trash when it comes to anything realistic about firearms. Also tells me where you’re getting your information from. TV and not the range.

You guys are fine with throwing around “innocent until proven guilty” and want to talk to me about reality but throw around extreme circumstances or outliers that aren’t even remotely representative of the values or training of the majority of law enforcement or civilian gun ownership. In both cases people decried the actions of the officer and those looney toons that chased down Amaud.

But since you want to throw around incidents lets go there. Earlier this year an armed citizen, stopped a violent attacker, Estaban padron, who had slashed two other applebees employees. No shots were fired. This happened in upstate NY of all places. Was an “innocent” person killed? No. Did it stop the criminal activity? Yes.

Remember Shawn Sutton and his wife Melody? Dude pretended to be a customer to rob a gas station in North Georgia. Two armed customers noticed the situation, stopped the robbery, and held the two at gun point until officers arrived. No one died in that petty theft event.

Or this one. Stopped theft without a shot being fired. I could go on. That’s reality.

My invitation is always open if you guys want to hit up the range, a gun class, a self defense and firearms law course both of which are taught by law enforcement and attorneys so you can see for yourself.

Lol. I like how upper-middle class suburban folks in zero crime areas have a lot of opinions on this, but lower-income urban residents who actually could benefit from armed self-defense are not even considered. This taxes their budgets the most. Taxes on Second Amendment rights helps no one.

So now CT is digging into the working poor's budget for ammunition? Man, they're always chiseling pennies away from the workers. Must be a huge burden on top of heating fuel and electrical costs this winter. They're probably leasing ammo from Aaron's Rent to Own

I’ve lived her for the past year after needing to find housing quickly. I have some STORIES about our time living here. Luckily, we just bought a house and will be out hopefully in the next month. I have every intention of leaving a VERY nasty review on Google, but would be more than happy to share some stories here. TLDR; the complex is a piece of shit and management is horrendous.
