I toured these apartments a couple years ago, expecting something pretty nice based on the price and advertising. They were absolutely disgusting, dingy and dark with tiny hallways, and everything from the building exteriors to the parking lot was falling apart

Yup what a come back. At one point in time CT forests were almost all gone due to clear cut for pastures and crops. Now over 68% of the state of CT is forested. Thanks to forward thinking citizens.

By liability I mean if any mistakes are made they absorb that liability of mistakes.
They will 100% be responsible if they screw up your tax returns, and that costs you money.
Add proven by the fact she was able to sue. You don't have to sign your rights away. And I would suggest that if any one of them does ask you to sign away their mistakes as a rate you go find another accounting.
My accountant here and the one that I've had previously they've always guaranteed their work.

The sad part is a window was smashed to loot the inside. I went and bought a new window piece and gave it to him. Over a month went by and he didn't fix it and then boom, cat gone too. I brought it there to have the computer replaced only since it wasn't starting up every time. Now there's 3 things fucked with it.

Reply to CT DMV can a car without title over 20 years old be registered if vin report came up as salvaged? by k24dj
Yes and no. If it's a salvage it has go get Inspected in Wethersfield, but after that yes you can register it, they don't do titles for anything over 20 years old

Reply to With Today being Iwo Jima day I just wanted to take a minute to show off CT's very own memorial in New Britain. It commemorates all that died in the battle but was mainly dedicated to the 100 men from Connecticut who lost their lives on this day 78 years ago by sporky211
My grandfather was a Marine in WWII and was part of the Iwo Jima battle, earned a purple heart there. Next month, I will be going to Iwo for the (covid-delayed) 75th anniversary "Reunion of Honor." Veterans from both US and Japan, as well as military brass from both sides. I'll post pics after I get back if there's any interest?

100% agree. I just googled that site quick. Looks like you just mail them. Seems like when they catch the people stealing them they’re from out of state.

Did you sign a liability waiver from the mechanic? IANAL but I feel like they should be responsible for replacing the cat because they failed to adequately secure your car (not your fault).

Unless that bird is levitating off the pan it’s in no way indistinguishable. They’re just different things.

I don't know, it seems like it's not worth getting caught. The best you're getting is like $300 for a legal scrapped cat. Some hoodrat showing up with a couple dozen is going to be lucky to get $100 a piece but the amount of damages is like 10+ times that.

Yep I do that with turkey. I prefer this cast iron recipe for chicken though.

Or we could create legislation to go after the legitimate business which are accepting the stolen catalytic converters (which is currently a legal grey area) and stop the problem at its source, while also forcing car insurance companies to cover stolen converters if they don’t, instead of making petty theft a death a sentence that can be meted out without a judge or jury, ya know since we are a country laws and have advanced past a lawless hellscape where people can murder each other for perceived slights.
The biggest problem with your plan though? I’m walking next to your car and I drop something. I roll over and try to fish my whatever out from under your car. You come out of your house and see me rooting around under your car. If we start giving people the ability to respond to perceived theft with deadly force there will be PLENTY of idiots who see me looking for my chapstick or whatever and shoot first and ask questions later because they assume they already know the situation.

Look on your pay receipt. CTPFL.
If you actually looked at your W2, you would know this already.

What’s your plan? Come outside in your pajamas with a baseball bat and threaten the two gun wielding thieves to stop stealing your property? No, you’ll just call someone else to deal with your problem and hope that they get there in time to apprehend them. Hope they don’t post bail, skip the court hearing, and keep on doing what they do. Then you’ll come on reddit and complain about ACAB or some trash and then the cycle of insanity continues. 🤔🤦♂️

Eversource, the merrit and a primal fear of places like Hartford, Bridgeport and Waterbury. Also have to include a pizza allegiance. Our stance on the notch and how we are the “best drivers”. Might as well throw something in there about left lane vs going 45 on the highway
