The state created new legal framework to prevent stolen cats from being purchased as scrap, but the thieves just go to another state

Reply to CT DMV can a car without title over 20 years old be registered if vin report came up as salvaged? by k24dj
This is actually a really good question and I don’t know the answer. Did you run a NMVTIS or a carfax? I would run the carfax and see if it was registered after the salvage event as a rebuilt title. CarFax may actually show a rebuilt title being issued otherwise call the DMV of the issuing state and see if they can help you out. I am not certain whether CT requires inspection on rebuilt titles but I wouldn’t think so.

My grandmother who passed at away at 102 start of COVID was endlessly impressed by her lifetime subscription she bought back in the 60's.
Don't recall what she paid, $35 maybe?

Reply to comment by Last-Instruction739 in With Today being Iwo Jima day I just wanted to take a minute to show off CT's very own memorial in New Britain. It commemorates all that died in the battle but was mainly dedicated to the 100 men from Connecticut who lost their lives on this day 78 years ago by sporky211
Every time I drove back to campus, I would have this exact thought.

I broke out in a severe Poison Ivy rash once by handling a hose that had been dragged through a bush a year earlier.
Wonder if that substance could be smeared over the converter.

It's not necessarily weakness. When the law was passed, there may have been things that people didn't like, and didn't want to absorb the law into their contract. Or, they were mid contract when the law was passed and had to wait until new contract to incorporate the law. (This last one is the case for my employer and was why I couldn't file this summer)). I do have an aflac policy but as I wasn't the sick person, I was a caregiver, I couldn't use it)

If the union offers a STD policy like aflac, you have to pay into it BEFORE you need it. Also, it doesn't help if you need to take leave to be a caregiver (the state paid leave does).

Municipal employees, State of CT employees, Federal employees working in CT
All do not qualify for CT paid leave. Something with the unions (and I'm not IN a union 🙃) I needed to go on leave this summer and found out that I didn't qualify since I work in one of the above categories. Even talked to my state representative who verified this.

This has actually happened. There are also a bunch of stories recently on local news sites about it happening to school buses, too.
