2nd this. I grew up here and it’s the kind of place where there might be only one or two families of color in an entire town. It’s a bit weird compared to other places.

although inconvenient, I prefer slow cooking a fresh roaster on the smoker/grill myself. absolutely scrumptious!

So making an agreement to purchase contingent on the car passing salvage inspection is the way to do this.

They discontinued it? That's unfortunate. Shows how often I go to big y though.

No, you cannot go and register a car that is salvage. The vehicle would need to have a salvage inspection first. Unless you have done one of these before, I advise to walk away from the vehicle. Your basically buying a paper weight until the whole process is complete. The car would have to be absolutely perfect to pass, including not having a drop of oil anywhere…

Yeah that’s why I’m trying to figure out if cars that don’t require title still have to go through the inspection of vin comes up at salvaged because I’m not dealing with that inspection haha

Just a word of warning; if you try to register a car that's been salvaged, the inspector is going to go over it with a fine tooth comb. They'll check EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING. I also believe that you have to have the vehicle towed in to the DMV to have it inspected. Better be sure it's worth that extra hassle. OTOH, a Miata was my dream car when I was in my 20s.

CT has one of the lowest rates of infant mortality. Children growing up in CT who are poor have the highest access to high quality health care

Reply to comment by sporky211 in With Today being Iwo Jima day I just wanted to take a minute to show off CT's very own memorial in New Britain. Yeah, the driveway leading into the site is in New Britain, but the statue itself is in Newington. Newington made a big deal out of this when it was first built.

I like CT, but the roads and sidewalks are awful. The roads a terribly designed (left exits, lanes ending right before a turn/exit that direction forcing everyone to merge over right before). The stoplights are also terribly coordinated if even linked at all. Sidewalks seem to be nonexistent outside of core areas

You need to either write down the amount and date paid for your mv tax or download a pdf of the bill; that gives you a credit in the state tax scenario. It was an extra $300 in my son's pocket so worth the effort. The town generally mails out property tax bills in June so you're good. Best of luck; adulting sucks but what sucks worse is having to pay fines for finding out the hard way.

Cracking down on the individuals who buy these and making it financially not worth their while seems as if it might be a deterrent. Obviously it’s easier said than done or it’d be happening.
