Look, as having lived in Bridgeport, some common sense and you'll be fine. Lock doors (home/car) and try to keep your car 100% free of valuables. Other than that, no different than anywhere else.

Cancel the registration first, insurance second. If you cancel insurance first, the DMV will fine you $200.

So if Meriden was the silver city, does Waterbury have a history in brass as I saw a sign the other day for the brass city.
What other cities in this state have specific histories like this? It’s intriguing and would love some good reference book recommendations

I would push their union harder. There is almost certainly a short term disability option offered by them. Also, not to be an asshole, but why can't they work with a broken foot?

You should have received documentation from whomever took the car.

I was born and raised in CT, left to the south for college then stayed for a bit (13 years!) but it was wonderful to return in 2015 with my husband and three kids. It’s a great place to raise a family. My southern born husband never wants to leave, so I guess that is a bonus.

And in Farmington you can actually see old buildings where the trains would divert to for deliveries.

Why wouldn’t they qualify for the CT leave program? Instances like this is exactly what it’s for.
Also, does a typical teachers benefits generally include STD or is that something they opt in or out of everywhere like a lot of private sector jobs?

I'll be honest, I don't travel that much to Hartford. Could someone tell me what the H is supposed to be? Is it the Mark Twain house?

To be fair it’s one in 184. That’s not at all bad, and even locking your doors, and avoid walking out at night in certain neighborhoods keep you safe and out of trouble.

Terrible dump is a harsh term. In all reality OP should be fine like many of Bridgeport’s 148,000 residents

Cancel registration online, keep receipt, take insurance off after or you will incur the $200 fine. Keep receipt, bring to town hall to make sure you are off the tax rolls. If not have your insurance agent/company write a letter with VIN number and date the vehicle was removed.
