Your interpretation of "within reason" could be vastly different from others. Unfortunately a lot of folks pro 2a here just want to bitch about how getting a Gun will be more difficult. They simply ignore all the grieving parents who have lost their kids, and imo, are enablers. They deflect alot.

My two cents from a Vermonter. Its deregulation that has you all over a barrel. CT should never have forced its monopolies to sell their generation assets. Now you pay for the profits at both the generation level, transmission level, and distribution level.

I tend to agree but would also recognize that publicly owned utilities have not covered themselves in glory throughout history. Whichever ownership model you have, there needs to be adequate government oversight that is shielded from political influence to the maximum extent possible.

Thanks. The studies I’ve just found on it are…odd to say the least but from what you’ve alluded to, the studies into it are ongoing. By several factors it seems as if it’s just anxiety based that of which can be linked to anything if a flare up occurs. You break your leg in a motorcycle wreck, your bone heals, but now you get worried when you think about riding again and that makes your leg hurt. The pain is psychosomatic. I know, because that happened to me in September of 2012 (ironically). Didn’t know they were classifying it as ptsd because it was something I eventually got over. 🤔

I saw it explained on another post and links to studies were shared. It is a real thing but not very well known. Basically the OOP is saying their back got stress fractures/damage from hunching for so many hours as a kid. PTSD fracture means these fractures can flare up when the survivor is exposed to stress because the body associates the stress with the pain of the original fracture. So even though the bones are healed, the body triggers that pain response on its own.

“The Office of Higher Education has been notified by Stone Academy that it intends to close,” said Timothy D. Larson, Executive Director of the Office of Higher Education in a statement. “For many months, our office has been working with the school to address a number of serious compliance issues that included unqualified faculty, invalid student clinical experiences and recording attendance.”

The OHE is offering guidance to affected students as the school closes, including "accessing transcripts, tuition refunds, loan discharges and adjustments to veteran’s benefits, and providing support for those students who intend to continue their course of study at another school."

The office is also evaluating a series of complaints regarding the quality of education at Stone Academy and the below 80% pass rate across the three campuses.

Students who have paid out of pocket for tuition, due to the school’s closure,  may be eligible for a partial refund. To apply for a refund from the State of Connecticut Student Protection Account, please visit: redacted. Refunds will be proportional to the portion of the program not yet completed. For example, a student that has completed 50% of their program, will receive a refund of half of the tuition paid. Refunds will be of tuition only; no refunds will be issued for fees or supplies.

We desperately need nurses but this places was 2x the national average for a nursing degree while putting out unprepared students.
