I’ve worked from home for nearly 3 years and I definitely feel insulated to a lot of the problems surrounding a sick day, I can save sick time and stretch out a work day or just call out easily.

COVID has created far greater disparities in money needed vs money being earned, some people are definitely working more hours or more jobs to pay for their necessities and can’t afford to take a sick day and still go into work sick.

Not only did the zoning commission rebuff an effort to tighten the six-month-old regulations for recreational cannabis sales, but members approved a previously rejected application for the city's second dispensary.

The hybrid retail and medical cannabis establishment would be located at 15 Dewey St., an office/industrial building between Interstate 95 and Mountain Grove Cemetery.

The commission rejected the dispensary's first application. But this time, the developer's attorney passed out a petition containing the signatures of 281 residents in favor of the application. He claimed his client had met with several neighborhood leaders and won them over.

An Oxford man whose wife died after giving birth at Danbury Hospital in 2020 has filed a lawsuit against the medical professionals that treated her in the final weeks of her pregnancy. He alleges that a chest X-ray she was referred for — and didn’t receive — five weeks prior would have revealed an undiagnosed 15 centimeter tumor that led to her death.

Lisa Sullivan delivered her baby via C-section on June 10, 2020, and began going downhill soon after, suffering cardiac arrest and brain damage from a lack of oxygen, according to the lawsuit. She died June 15, 2020, after which the tumor — a 15.5 centimeter large B-cell lymphoma — was found, the lawsuit states.

In kindergarten, I often walked the half mile to North Street School (Windsor Locks) and back.

When my folks moved to South Windsor, once I hit 10 years old, I had about a 5 mile radius I was allowed to ride my bike in. Included TE middle school and Caldor plaza on Tolland Tpk.

This was when Janice Pockett was still talked about in hushed whispers.

Depends. In what context are you talking about? Because if you just sit there and generalize the whole community based on a joke or based on a criminal event, you aren’t looking at the entire picture. You throw the word culture around relating to the gun community but you clearly dismiss the vast majority within the community constantly preaching gun safety, shoot responsibly, secure their firearms properly, and try to educate those who don’t know what the “culture” is all about. It’s not even a culture. It’s in essence your right to self preservation. To answer your question, I see the ignorance surrounding what non-gun owners view as gun culture, as the problem. I see the lack of focus on the sequence of events that lead up to the criminal act mainly what the motive was, as a problem. And I see the constant emotional restrict access, reclassify, and ban it mentality that the other side keeps pushing as another problem.

OP meant Killingly. The same town that recently tried to change the name of their sports teams from “Redmen” to “Red Hawks”, but then the town voted out the school board members and elected several republicans that only ran on the platform of overturning the name change vote. Now they will keep the Redmen name for their teams, but will lose $94k a year in funding from the Pequot/Mohegan tribes.

It is always possible that your kid was in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, the majority of the time, it is the kids. If not your kid directly, the company they keep. You can only find this out if you talk to the educators and adults there. If your kid is not in the wrong, you should all work it out as adults. They will want that.

How about not voting Democrat?

It’s amazing how everyone complains about the high cost of living in CT but still votes Democrat.

People, shits not going to change under Democrats leadership. Have a good look at all the Democrat run states. The crime, Cody of living, taxes, and overall welfare of the citizens is total shit.

Seriously, if you voted for Lamont, you got what you deserved. Not only in utilities but everything else as well

Edit

Plenty of downvotes but not one comment proving I’m wrong or mistaken

In our district, being sick with a doctors note doesn’t matter. Excused absences are still counted as absences.

Last year, my kid broke his arm (missed one day), got covid, got the flu and missed one other day (…the day after he had been assaulted by another kid in class) and the school still gave me problems. Only one absence didn’t have a note and I think the total was like 12 days.

I don’t know what to do. I can’t send him sick but keeping him home is an issue.

The second lowest bill we have had in a year. We switched to another provider, but I have become my parents and yell about things being left on. So basically responsible with our electronic usage. Wild how it works.

Best way to get back at them is to minimize your usage.
