33 isn’t old my friend, you’re just starting. Be kind to yourself and understand it’s okay to feel unsure about where you are/where you are going. As long as you are actively taking steps to make small, beneficial changes, you can’t lose. The only thing that kept my friend group together during Covid was gaming. Even now we might not boot a game some nights, we just hop on discord and have a chat, it helps

The local Vernon patch posts them alot. The historical society near vcms has some. Town hall in Rockville has some pictures hanging up. I think the rail trail has some pictures at stops of what used to be there too. Good to know my neighbors love pot too lol.

The CT school year is 180 days. 10% of that is missing only 18 days of school per year. Figure that a lot of families will take 3-5 days off for vacations, a kid will be sick twice during the year requiring 2-3 days off each, throw in a funeral or two for 2 days off, a mental health day or two, and about 2 days worth of half-days for Dr./Dentist appointments and you’re already at the 10% mark. Covid just pushes that over the edge.

Wooden structures, electrical shorts. Also unsure how close the hydrants are, I have been out of town for 5 years. This farm belonged to at least 4 corporations since the 90s-Egglands best, Land o lakes, Moark, Hillandale, maybe another. Last fire was Moark in 2016. I always said the town has 2500 people and 2.5 million chickens.

Meetup.com used to have a ton of local groups pre-Covid. I haven't checked it out recently though.

There is no shame in all in your post! I hope you find your tribe and feel better :)

Clearly the lesson on empathy bypassed this commenter. Ignore this, OP. Best of luck. I also echo joining your community’s local FB group. Mine posts a lot of different events and opportunities to meet like-minded folks.

I hope you win. When I was a teacher more than a decade ago, in Texas, the most we ever did was make the kids sit at the side on a bench (outside, not inside) for maybe 5 minutes of recess. And then they were allowed to play with the rest of the kids. And this was only for extremely serious disciplinary problems. It was super rare.
