Reply to anyone want to speak German? by penultimateNoob
YAAAAAY, GERMAN! /u/penultimateNoob, I just saw on a flyer that here's now another monthly World Languages Cafe meetup at Miller Library in Ellicott City. It's one Thursday a month. The next meetup is tomorrow, 10/13 from 7-8:45pm. (After that, the next meetups at Miller are Nov. 10th and Dec. 8th.)
The East Columbia Library monthly meetups are still ongoing, one Tuesday per month. (Upcoming: 10/25, 11/22, 12/13, 7-9pm.) So you could alternate and get your German fix every other week.
I'm in a German class currently that ends in November, but I should have more time for meetups next month!

In b4 conservatives allege that the stats are fake (with zero proof whatsoever), yet if Kittleman were in charge with the EXACT same stats they'd rave about how Republicans are "tough on crime"

Do you think cities can reach a point where the water is flooding in faster than people can bail it out? I'm a millennial in IT and while I know many friends who live/have lived in Baltimore their goal is often to have kids in a couple years and move out into the counties after spending a few years bar crawling. They pay taxes and spend money at local small businesses but it doesn't feel like the kind of organic growth the city needs long term.
I have lived in MD for less than 10 years and Howard county for 7 with a single year in Baltimore so my perspective is pretty skewed. Kind of feels like some of the city's greatest challenges are geographic. People who want a place to raise their kids with great schools can move 10 miles away and Baltimore also has to compete with D.C. for people who want to live in a city.

The line won’t be bad but that flight is going to suck balls

I always arrive 2 hours early to be on the safe side. TSA at BWI moves pretty quickly compared to other airports.

while the beers are good at all three, jailbreak holds an advantage in variety, comfortable accommodations, and in having their own kitchen.

How early? Pre check or non? A few times I’ve been burned for 5/6AM flights bc the PreCheck lines weren’t open until later. TSA has an app too that can tell you estimated wait times

75-90 minutes is almost always doable, albeit can be rushed, at BWI. I always sob when I’m coming home at airports where 2-3 hours can feel like it’s no enough (glares at DEN and SEA)

Totally depends on if you’re checking a bag, but usually extremely fast!

It usually moves quickly (15-20 min at most), but I agree that arriving 2 hours early is a good idea. Worst case scenario, you can grab some breakfast or coffee once you're through security.

Not that bad. I usually show up 2hr early but could get away with 1hr early.
I'd still say 2hr since you've apparently not been through BWI much.

Same! It’s not bad, but I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

I love food trucks, so my recommendation would be Sapwood Cellars for good beer when they have a food truck that sells burgers/fries.
May not be the most "consistent" answer considering they don't always have food trucks with burgers/fries, but when they do...you're in for a treat.

I have a 2 bed 2 bath and we average about $35/mo here. $100 definitely seems high.
