>How did that not immediately generate joy for you
It's a low effort shit post in an overwhelmingly blue subreddit. It only generated annoyance for me, and I'm voting for the guy.

No one cared about your Pro-Kittleman comments last time. Get out and vote and flex your opinion through the ballot. You didn’t even respond to the last comments we sent your way lol. Run and hide for another week until you can ruin the comments of another post. Seriously?!?!!! It’s a Ball. A CALVIN Ball!!!! How did that not immediately generate joy for you. Love it. Thanks OP!!

Not really, I would rather support Dem ticket than a Republican.

100% agree. I've heard through neighbors that they've been a little careless and doing some shady things with creative accounting.

If you watch any of the meetings, it's just a sad mess.
You have a group of old seniors, that are unprepared and seem to just attend the meeting to be confrontational. They give that vibe where they'd yell at you the second your kid's ball landed in their yard and you walked over to pick it up.
Watching Dick Boulton and Alan Klein in action, makes you wish COVID had hit the area a little harder. Brian England sits staring into space on his video feed. I sometimes wonder if he's dead, but then he mutters something incomprehensible and usually doesn't know what's actually going on. Then you have Eric Greenberg who just falls in line with the Old White Guy posse.
How the CEO hasn't quit at this point is beyond me.
I'm getting older and I firmly believe you limit the age of the people involved in some of these elected positions. Yes it's ageism. Leave this in the hands of the younger members in the CA community that are going to be affected by these decisions long after most of these people on the Board are long dead.
Oh hey...lets not even mention the total lack of diversity on the Board.
Mad respect for Janet Evans. If you ever watch the recording of the meeting where they voted her out of the Chairperson seat. It was just sad. She's one of the few knowledgeable and hardworking members of the Board that is always prepared and knows what's going on.

It's always fun to watch them argue with the CA Attorney. Because you know, I'm older so I know better.

There are a few different things in action here.
The CA Board could really function well if the people on it understood what their roles are supposed to be.
The CA Board has had ethics problems for years that are still unresolved—this is really quite unfortunate. Most of us would agree that ethics are important for people in leadership.
Demonizing the Rouse Project was clearly white supremacy at work. There are no longer any POC on the board, are there? For a community as diverse as Columbia, it is shocking that there are no POC on the board. There are also mostly older white men. How can they understand the priorities of their constituents without the lived experience of even raising children in this day and age?
Anyway, I watched the meeting the other day on the livestream and I almost posted to encourage others to watch because people should know what shenanigans these folks are up to.
The Merriweather Post guy is very generous. I think these folks are just completely out of touch and need to let Ms. Boyd get the job done. She’s the right person for this job, and it would be a damn shame if these old cranks ran her out of town.

The article talks about it within this context.

What does that have to do with anything? The TRP conspiracy is basically Columbia QAnon at this point.
The real problem is the gridlock and micromanaged shitshow that causes competent people to bail on CA work and incompetent yes-men to fill the void they leave behind.
The CA is one crisis away from going broke and having the whole shebang auctioned off to the highest bidder.

I've watched the videos of the board meetings - If I was in Lakey's position, I would be incredibly frustrated to be dealing with this board. I get that this is how it works, but it's very clear that you have a seasoned professional dealing people who clearly are not...
CEO: "We should review the strategic plan to make sure our priorities are still aligned coming out of COVID"
Board: "Why?"
The board comes off as idiots who are way out of their element.

At least I'm my case I pay $50/ month for fios internet only, and paid $105 or so with cable (and that was lowest possible tier). And had Netflix and Amazon in addition anyway, since that's better shows! Sometimes pay for Hulu or peacock in addition, which might not have done with cable, but it's fairly minor. We cut the cord when we realized we hadn't turn the cable box on in over 7 months. I can't watch "live" TV", on demand or nothing..

It's really a personal thing - and for heavy live tv watchers, you don't always save money - since there are pretty good bundle deals and having multiple streaming services starts to really add up. Figure out what the cost of internet alone is, subtract that from your current rate and that's your budget to spend on streaming services.
Make sure you check with your cell phone provider to see if any services are already provided for free with your account. Verizon's higher tier unlimited plans come with a few services.
One small savings is the modem; with bundled services you often can't purchase your own router, but when you go just internet, you usually can. That means about $10 a month towards a much higher end router.
A lot of the local stations are still broadcast over the air. If your house has an old antenna, some work amazingly. You can also purchase newer style ones. In Columbia, often the "roof top" antennas are mounted in the attic, so see if you already have one. It's not a great solution, but if you're like me and just want the broadcast for a few things a year, it's better than paying for streaming services.
Remember that you don't need to keep paying for your services every month. Cancel in the off season, or between series you follow.

Is there anything worth watching on local channels? Or should say; what is there? Genuinely curious what they have.. Cut the cord 5 years ago, and honestly have no idea what NBC, ABC have to offer.. But I've never missed it. I got an antenna, but have checked it out twice, found it was all garbage and never used it again, lol.
Netflix, Amazon, and HBO have more than I can ever watch.. *shrug.

What is flex box? I’m a comcast internet customer, can I request one if I think I can use it? I got rid of cable but want to watch local news and PBS. The basic cable for just local stations and PBS is like 30 a month.

You know that's a good question, maybe if I take a look at Comcast and see what extras I can remove.
