Did they use any names on the orders? In case anyone shows up at those businesses looking for packages under those names, police could be contacted while staff stall them "looking" for them.

I had a very similar experience several months ago and I'm still cleaning up the odd e-mail subscription. The would-be thief only placed a single order at Costco.com, and I didn't get a delivery address.

My suspicion was that my card was compromised at a local restaurant near JHU APL, but I have no evidence.

Definitely local. You were probably compromised at a local business who had your name, email and address. Those 3 hotels likely accept anyones packages and are open to handing them over to anyone who asks for them using the matching name.

Yes. I would file a police report. I personally would call those hotels and tell the manager what happened. I’d feel better that I educated them and possibly thwarted the receipt of other fraudulently bought items.

The signing up for a bunch of lists is to spam your inbox in hopes you miss the fraudulent purchase warning.

It doesn't hurt to call the non emergency police number and see what they say.

I would take down the addresses from the post though. Odds are, while it's a local theft, they chose those addresses because they know the person is away or can otherwise intercept the box.

An honest attempt at a reasonable/civil answer:

I think being a "sanctuary" community has little to do with whether or how immigration laws should be enforced. What is critically important is that these communities are already here. While they are here, they need to feel they can trust the local government and the local police to address local issues.

If someone who is "mexican" looking gets assulted in this county, I 100% want them to report that to police and I want them to get medical attention from EMTs or HoCoGeneral. I don't want Police, EMTs, or Doctors trying to call ICE on someone they are supposed to be helping because that person speaks spanish or whatever. And this isn't just illegals, this impacts people who live near them or are friends with them, or legals who don't speak good english and are scared of getting into expensive court trouble despite their having legal status. It happens. All. the. time.

And you shouldn't want that either. The reason "sanctuary communities" exist is because having local police indistingiuishable from ICE means that policing effectively doesn't exist for this huge swath of people. What happens when you have no police? Anarchy, every police loving conservative should know that.

AND "sanctuary" doesn't prevent ICE from doing their job. And if there is other crime (drugs, human trafficking, etc) mixed up with illegals then you can bet local PD will be all over it anyway.

tl;dr Let the PD work for the people who are living here (no matter where they are from) and let ICE worry about whether those people are allowed to live here or not.

If you've never gone, or been, camping or have never camped, I would suggest waiting until late April or May. At this point, without the right cold weather gear, you would be in for a miserable time.

When camping, 50 degrees can feel like 30, and overnight in a tent the air gets very very cold. So cold you don't want to leave the sleeping bag, much less the tent.

When you have evenings where it doesn't go below 60 degrees - those are nights for a first time camper. You could go cold weather camping, of course, but if you do be prepared to invest in good cold weather gear. A regular sleeping bag won't do. Cold weather camping is more of a challenge than an activity.

Glamping is still an option this late in the season - and you could rent a yurt or cabin at many camp sites in Maryland, Little Bennett might have year round cabins. While not exactly "rustic" it will get you outside and you won't hate camping like you would if you tried to climb out of a tent to light a fire in 45 degree weather.
