Generally the higher up you can get your antenna the better the results will be

I had mine mounted in my attic and got maybe 40-50 channels in total when counting digital sub-channels

Unfortunately I had to scrap it when I had solar panels installed, as the transformer from the panels introduced so much noise that it would essentially completely cut the signal during the day

I bought one of the indoor HD Antennas off Amazon that claim to get you 60 miles of signal, was very hit or miss for both Baltimore & DC channels. There's about half a dozen being sold under different names.

What I ended up buying on was a separate signal booster (most of the antenna packages come with a weaker booster) and it made a world of difference. No issues since. I will recommend that also hanging the antenna on an exterior wall (hid ours behind a bookshelf) seems to help.

Around that time we were at 40 and Bethany lane when 2 idiots decided they needed to drag race off the light going west on 40. Mustang beat the suv, but we were waiting for them to cause something stupid.

I have a pretty old medium distance all direction rca antenna mounted about 12 ft in the air on a wall above my roof. It’s flat and about the size of a piece of paper.

According to antenna web I’m about 15 miles from Baltimore signals and 25 from DC.

I get channels 4,5,11, 20, and 50 pretty well I get channels 2, 13, 24,45,54,67 really well.

I don’t get 7 or 9 at all.

I think with a better antenna I’d get them all well.

  1. I always look at the crime reports. At the end of the day, violent crime decreased quite significantly under Ball. You can "stand by" your comments about crime, but you can also accept that you were spreading misinformation about the WalletHub report. It's ironic considering you claim to "do your own research".

  2. You must have missed the incendiary comments the last time redistricting was a topic of discussion. There were many racist comments made: https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2019/10/racists-in-one-of-americas-richest-counties-are-freaking-out-over-a-forced-busing-proposal/ Like I mentioned before, many of those that promote neighborhood schools have 2 or 3 schools that are equidistant from their place of residence. They often gravitate towards one that is actually further away from the closest school due to preference of school "reputation", or they prefer the legacy school. "Pay to play" is a disgusting practice as well, but many that promote neighborhood schools are essentially doing just this: their voices become loudest as they continuously complain about how such redistricting will impact their property values. Fussing over the BOE is funny considering you've promoted Carroll County schools in the past (which has far-right members that are for banning books). At the end of the day, HoCo has FAR better schools than Carroll or Anne Arundel and consistently ranks at the top at the state level and near the top in the country.

We need more progressive county leaders like Walsh and Jung and fewer Neoliberals and Republicans (Yungmann) that cater to developers and the rich.

I am sure they will carefully hide the identity of the one POS they caught. He will probably get a slap on the wrist (like the POS who did donuts on the bay bridge), instead of attempted murder. And I bet he gets his car back and it barely affect his license; if he has insurance it will go up ... but BFD.

The damage to this county has been done. I said nothing great about Kittleman and stand by my statements about Ball, overcrowded schools, and poor infrastructure. I also forgot to add bus driver and bus shortage (as a county, we don't own buses and contract out for drivers) so many areas are doing double bus runs. Not unique to HOCO, but something to be aware of.

Take a look at the daily crime reports put out by the HOCO police department. I stand by my assessment of the safest city survey put out by Wallet hub 🙄

Redistricting won't be done correctly either as our BOE and CE are open to bribes to keep polygons from moving schools (polygon 147 donated a pile of cash and didn't get moved in 2018) The 2018 redistricting did nothing to help over crowding (nor did it do much in redistributing the FARM numbers...).

I did read a comment about a small group of woke liberals running the show here and that is very true. Anyone who has any different view or idea is deemed a racist anti LGBTQ asshole. Take those who support neighborhood schools (trying to keep kids as close to their homes as possible) - that is a very racist idea. The next round of redistricting will be epic. The worst is yet to come here.

Also, don't go near the mall after dark. The main event at the mall is now filled with cops once the sun goes down waiting for the next shooting or robbery. No thanks.

River hill, Marriotts ridge, Glenelg if you can afford to live out in west county, less risk of redistricting due to those schools being less crowded. Centennial/hebron are also great schools. Below that I would say Atholton/Howard are also nice. In Howard county it’s all about wealth when it comes to schools, the better the schools rank the more expensive it is to live in the district and less affordable housing (apartments) or none at all.

Didn’t a kid just get stabbed at Hammond? I don’t mean to suggest that this occurrence is emblematic of anything - I think Hammond is a fine school - but to suggest that Wilde Lake is worse is just incorrect. Wilde Lake is a great school surrounded by a great community in a thriving part of Columbia. You’ll never meet a person or family that attended Wilde Lake speak negatively of their experience. It always seems to be others that have no connection to Wilde Lake that trash it. That should tell you something.

There is no traffic enforcement anywhere these days. It gives folks license to speed and ignore all traffic laws. Used to be a speed trap on 29 almost daily, north above the 100 interchange often, and south just below the rise in the road around 175. I never see it any more.

I never see any police on the roads anywhere. Since the pandemic it seems to have stopped.

Try driving in Baltimore it gets even crazier.
