Broad-brush thats likely true, but there can be exceptions. For example, if one has enough medical expenses that it makes sense to itemize, one might also be trying to get money any way they can, including by selling their old textbooks.

If you’re in a position where you need to sell text books rather than just donating them, you’re not itemizing your taxes. You’re just going to take the standard deduction.

Can try https://www.secondstorybooks.com/selling-to-us.php too if you're willing to drive over to Rockville.

There is very little market for used books. There is one store in Columbia you can try: https://secondeditionbooks.com/trade-and-sell/.
If textbooks are the latest edition then sometimes a college bookstore will buy them. If not then they are worthless, no one will pay for them.
If you're patient then listing them on ebay or as a third-party Amazon seller will probably get you slightly more money but thats only if it sells at all and you'll have to deal with the seller account stuff and shipping.
All this is why most people just donate books and take the tax writeoff. See the 'books' section at https://www.howardcountymd.gov/knowbeforeyouthrow.

Second Edition off of Dobbin (next to the MVA office) is my go to book store but I don't think they buy/sell text books

Second Edition Books is off Dobbin: (410) 730-0050 https://maps.app.goo.gl/VnFFmS4hEjxy3HmC9?g_st=ic
I believe the library accepts donations as well, if you want to consider that option.

I was at Pub Dog for lunch and they're advertising $85 tickets for NYE with all food and drink inclusive.
Frisco's is always hopping.
I think Black Flag has board game nights which is probably a good way to meet people

Sounds like you’re better off driving to inner harbor with the other guy who magnet fishes there.

From page 90 of the Howard County Activity Guide it looks like all the pickleball classes for the winter were cancelled. Maybe call the point of contact to see if any spring classes are being planned.

Don’t know anything about them, but I do drive past “Dill Dinkers” often. They might offer lessons.

Maryland Book Bank in Baltimore accepts drop off donations, and you can get the tax benefit. I wouldn't be surprised if much of those donations also end up in the landfill though.
