Agreed. I wouldn't call her a Karen, though. (I see your quotation marks.) I think a Karen is an entitled person who feels the rules don't apply to them. Wasn't the original Karen the woman with an off-leash dog in Central Park, NYC, who called the police on the guy who asked her to leash her dog?

If you’re going to be installing filtration equipment, it might be useful to do a lab test of your water to understand if there are any other elements you want your system to filter out. Water quality can vary - even when it comes from the same municipal source.

I used https://mytapscore.com/ a few years ago and was very pleased with the report I got.

I saw an unleashed dog get hit by an MBTA bus right in front of me on Concord Ave. There's a group of people who let their dogs run off-leash in a small grassy area just to the side of the road, and of course the dogs were chasing each other and darted into the road. I still get angry just thinking about it.

From this data, you would be pretty much assured of getting into Peabody if you make that your first choice (since they are expecting at least four spots for people without any bonus points). You are not assured of getting into G&P.

They project 19 spots for people with proximity bonus at G&P, and in the previous year there were 32 folks with proximity bonus that applied.

I’m no longer in Cambridge, but man was the water bad when I was there. In my home, I installed an under-sink RO system from iSpring and it’s been great. They are US-based and have good customer support. You could try some of their whole-home filtering options. I don’t have any experience with the whole-home filters personally, though.
