I'm sure many folks in the tech/pharma space have found themselves in that spot. plenty of mass based startups have given locales overnight windfalls. Why should the burden on the mass education system fall on their shoulders? Just increase corporates taxes. What do you have against people keeping the money they earned?

I mean hell, anyone who bought property in cambridge in the 90s or even 2000s probably have seen their property value double. just because it passes the million dollar mark doesnt mean they should suddenly owe the state more money

Are we going to get dart boards? Please say yes! This area is devoid of darts now!

What. What definition of upper middle class expects to make significantly over $1million in a single year, ever? Let alone so much over so often that they find a 4% tax on the overage burdensome?

Too early to give a hard date, but I’ll post updates if people are interested.

In addition to reporting to police, you might want to check nearby businesses to see if there are security cameras which may have recorded the thief in action. My bike was stolen on Brattle 2 years ago and there was footage that showed identifying tattoos. Although the police didn't find the guy, I was lucky enough to actually find my bike 3 weeks later dumped in the bike rack in front of the wedge shaped building at Harvard St & Mass Ave, so keep an eye out.

It's crazy that the increased tax bill passed. Why not just vote to increase state corporate taxes instead? With some many schools per capita, surely people must have an expectation that they have a chance at a high income job. Or at least a chance at buying an expensive property at some point in their lives.
It's also wild that most people don't seem to understand this won't impact billionaires and the rich they claim to hate. This is just a tax on the upper middle class. So good job team. I'm sure the actual law will get all types of carve outs so politicians aren't impacted, but it would be nice if there was a windfall exception so that lottery winners, home sales, and just one time income spikes were exempt

Cambridge does have a storage fine, but as a resident I've been able to park my car on the street for months (during the Winter when street cleaning is suspended).

I rarely use my car and have probably left it in the same spot for a month at one point and I've never heard of this.

If you’re concerned about substance use, you should focus on the package stores nearby, since those are a greater source of harm than cannabis and are far less regulated.

I did not at the time, but I was parked on an unsigned street. It's in the law, but I think for permit holders it is much more rarely enforced.

There’s 5 liquor stores within a few blocks of this location, which will have similar hours to this dispensary.
If you’re concerned about weed but not booze, you need to rethink your concerns.

I've lived in Cambridge for over 20 years and never had that happen to me or anyone I know. Do you have a resident permit?

find a friend with a driveway?
myrealnameisdj t1_ivoweyx wrote
I've run it several times and this one just seemed to be not organized well. I finished around 2:10, there was no fruit left at all. I think there were only 4 or 5 water stations on the whole route. By the time my wife finished, there wasn't even any water left at the end. There were so many people needing medical attention!
Also, less seriously, there was no afterparty this year. Last year had CBC slinging beers on First St. Would have been perfect weather for it this year!

Wowwww lame. I haven't had this happen and I drive <= once per week, but I guess I've just gotten lucky. That sucks!

If a meter person notices you haven't moved your car for several days they will start giving you vehicle storage tickets which is parking for more than 24hours in a spot. I found out the hard way.

Cheap? No. If you want to save money you probably want to find a garage outside the city and taxi/Uber to/from it

I was shooting for a 1:55, finished in 2:17. No water at the finish, bins that previously held oranges and bananas were full of garbage. Goody bag had a frisbee and Twix flavored popcorn in it.

When did you finish? There was water when I finished, but strangely no Gatorade. Just an orange, a banana, and water

For winter I would go garage because of snow, but summer I would rather just get a friend / neighbor to move my car for street cleaning, and leave it on the street otherwise :)
