The most comfortable boots ever but I’ve never had a pair last longer than 3 years. They just come apart and the soles delaminate. I’ve had 3 pairs and they’ve all needed to be replaced after a year.

A bit over the price range would be the Danner Quarry boots. Have had mine for 2 years of daily hard wear working as a machinist in a shipyard. Made is USA, Goretex, safety toe, and super comfortable. They have klarna so you can break up payments every two weeks if it’s a route you wanna go

That hole isn’t a defect, it’s a vent hole from the manufacturing process. The handle is hollow, so a hole needs to be there while the handle is being formed and attached to the pot. The rust is probably only there from running the pot through the dishwasher, but in any case it’s not indicative of a defect in the pot or anything that would eventually rust to the point of failure.

You might not like the hole being there, but I’m pretty sure that stock pot will outlast you, unless you run it over with a steamroller.

My husband loves these keen boots. They are wide and very comfortable. I have a pair myself of non steel toe. They are super comfy.

10 years ago I got a Food Network enameled Dutch oven for $20 at a thrift store. I use it at least once a week and it's a tank. Zero Chips or stains, it's definitely BIFL!

I ordered the Logitech gaming one (since it was on sale) so it’s black and blue. Though considering changing my order to all black. I would have preferred white but definitely don’t want to deal with cleaning it

Great, sturdy pair of gloves. Expensive, but super well constructed. Took a little to break in, though.

I've also had some Revit gloves that were nice lightweight, warm weather gloves, but they didn't last that long. Only maybe 5k miles before the leather started to disintegrate at the thumb seam.

It even has an alarm!!! Love that watch I wear it at least once per week (I have a small and humble collection).

That LCD display was everything at the time. It's hard to overstate how cool it was.

Masonry eats boots so no sense going crazy expensive, but you also don't want to go crazy cheap. You can look at keen moctoe's (with a steel toe) in the $150-200 range that will be super comfortable and good quality, they will fail a little sooner than a nice pair of thoroughgood, but in this line of work everything will fail, and the keens will at least be immediately comfortable and not need a break in.

If he’s done growing get a good pair they are a tool I’m a COM/ind electrician. I stick with USA made I have had a pair of JK boots and USA Chippewas and red wing for 15 years I rotate them depending on season and resole them. Each pair was expensive but average out the years there worth it!

You're assuming that any given manufacturer is in fact following the specs given to them. That's not a safe assumption in this case. Sometimes they do, sure, and sometimes they make literally the cheapest thing they can get the foreign company to pay them for and pocket the difference.

I feel like a lot of previously go-to brands are just riding out the name while offering inferior quality products now.

Probably depends on where in Canada you live, it's pretty big.
