for sure, and not to sure about the durability of them but I’ve been wanting to try out mini split systems you should check them out they might be better with a 1 story like yours

But a normal can opener is tearing the metal right above the food. I'm guessing the chance of consuming trace metal is comparable

Either one would probably last a long time, but you can't put off the maintenance. These engines have carburetors, and you should practice proper storage procedures if your'e going to not use them, and occasionally clean them. This is trivial and youtube makes it even easier than ever. But seriously, 90% of all lawnmowers that "break" are just because people treat them like shit and modern gas goes stale and starts gumming things up fast.

I carried a old Army P-38 can opener on my key ring for 20 yrs., then lost my keys. That opener had a lot of cans under it's blade.

I prefer an alternative style can opener that separates the factory seal on top of the can, instead of piercing the metal and creating sharp edges.
Minimal moving parts, and nearly no points of failure or hard to clean areas. Only way it could be better is if you could remove the handle to clean the inside of it.

Honestly that classic can opener design belongs in MOMA or an industrial design hall of fame. Very few things as iconic.

My dad has one off the old military ones and he can open a can really quick with it. His was from his military days so he had a lot of practice.

The nice thing about the Oster clippers is that they use extremely high quality but cheap interchangeable (with Andis or other) blades. You can even get ceramic ones. And they're built like the 1960s.
And, actually, shit, they're way cheaper now than when I bought mine about 20 years ago!

I went through a bunch trying to find something that gives me a nice easy clean electric shave and manscaped was the only one that did what I wanted. Definitely good for a close shave idk if they have attachments.

I actually prefer the simple can opener of my old swiss army knife or off a Leatherman. I also prefer a simple corkscrew bottle opener with knee joint to any of the highly complex new fangled jobs. When my girl told me her favorite bottle opener she ever used was one of those battery powered alibaba automatic bottle openers I genuinely jumped 2 meters backwards and made a screeching sound. I like things simple, things that are made to last.
