We have a Bosch drill that says made in West Germany written on it. Still works fine, it drills into brick and concrete faster then the modern battery ones I have used from Black and Decker. You just have ot make sure you don't burn out the motor because it starts to smoke if you are on it for too long.

I think I have this same chair! My partner got it off an office job. He’s a mover, so he gets a ton of awesome (and sometimes weird) stuff from jobs. He got it for me for sewing and it’s seen hell from our kids, but it’s been SO sturdy that I refuse to get rid of it! I think I’ve had it for 4 or 5 years now. He’s tried to throw it out after a few “messes” from the little ones but I made him power wash the bejeezus out of it with plenty of Dawn!

I have one of those and used it for years to make pizzelles "Just like grandma and mom used to." My sisters both bought electric ones and I shamed them for defying family tradition. Then I got an electric one too and have never looked back - they're fucking awesome!

Oh interesting! I updated my comment with the recipe if you want to try. We called ours pizzelles out whole lives, but it wasn't until I had a friend who knew what they are taste them and went, ok yours taste totally different than mine, and I like them better, that I realized we'd been making a different cookie (mom had typed up the recipe for me so I hadn't seen it in the book in awhile). I like pizzelles too, but they're more cake-y than this recipe makes.

Did this--max'd out the ram at time of purchase and my Mac Air is about to have its 10th birthday. Battery doesn't hold a charge anymore, but works great as long as it's connected to wall.

I bought my knives in person at Korin. I can attest that their resident knife master puts a 70/30 edge by hand on each knife as part of the purchase. He did it in front of me using Japanese water stones.

Yeah, that's a handy one, too. Plus, cordless is very handy at times.

This is great, a lot more like the ones my family (and really the whole city i grew up in) makes. I didn't know they had a different name as, kind of oddly, we call them tie plates so when i learned about pizzelle i assumed they were the same. The tie plate name may have something to do with the presses coming from steel ties of the steel plant in the town...or something.
