Can definitely recommend the Big Berkey gravity based filters, much better than those plastic water filter jugs, easy to use and durable, made to last.

Seconded! Their Fibre Light SupeR are my dailies now. I only have one more pair from them which are knee-high for when I have to wear a suit.

Lennox never fails, also if you can find a company that only deals with the brand you buy would be great for in the future when you will need repairs/cleaning

I wear the crap outta mine and it still looks great. No pilling. It's not the softest in the world, but I am always wearing a t-shirt or a thin long sleeve under it anyhow to keep from having to wash it as much.

Use the Darn Tough store locator to look for EU stockists. For example they have one in Berlin - Hikerhaus.

I love Swiss brand Rohner. I bought a pair of rohner ski socks in 2001 and they are still perfect

They hold up incredibly well. I wear them A LOT and no discernible wear.
Evolution are thinner/lighter and fit a bit looser. Diversion are thicker canvas - more denim weight - and the fit is more tailored.
There’s an evolution 2.0 out but I’ve not tried.
I’m 5’7.5” and have had all of them tailored shorter - and no issues.
Fwiw I have WR hats, 2 merino oxfords, and a performance flannel (discontinued I think). All their stuff is great. I’ve backed most projects on kickstarter. I’d buy their jackets too if I didn’t have a good lineup already.

Thanks for the recommendation and yeah looking to go to a nearby surplus shop in a few weeks, for some pouches for my backpack and hoping for a field jacket and some lining but, oddly enough for the outskirts of Bremerton there aint much stuff nearby lol

I hear old Pendletons are good. Make sure they're USA made, newer ones are outsourced and not as good.

In that case I recommend the official Vancouver Island tuxedo: https://www.stanfields.com/products/mens-heritage-heavy-weight-wool-henley
Also you don't mention what country you are in, so I will assume you are American. Make sure to do the conversions, the dollar is in your favour.

I have the same!!! Bought it used 12 years ago. When it needed a new belt, my repair man told me never to get rid of it because he will always be able to repair it.

I remember these fans!!! My parents had the blue one & my grandparents had the amber one. I’ve lost both of my parents in the past 5 years … thank you for the lovely memory. ♥️
