Good point! I dropped mine on a hike once and the rock it fell on dented the bottom. But luckily there wasn't any impact to the functionality—it still keeps drinks cold/hot for a ridiculously long time!

The more universal parts and less complex, the more reliable and easy to maintain they’ll be. That will limit you to the cheaper and least efficient models though. Stay away from the spine-fine Trane and American Standard units, they are harder to clean and fail more often than traditional fins.

Models rated for use near the sea coast are going to be the most corrosion resistant.

Also, the installation is more important than the equipment brand. The best equipment installed by a hack will be terrible, average equipment installed by a seasoned pro will be great.

General Leathercraft has high quality belts with many customization options. One really cool feature is the holes are punched in a zig-zag pattern which makes it more finely adjustable for fit. Their main business is weightlifting belts, and I ordered a dress belt on a whim purchasing a new lever for a weightlifting belt. After using the casual belt a few times, I ordered a couple others in different colors and unless a dog chews it or my weight changes a lot I really am set for life.
