May be helpful to give an idea of what size unit you are looking at. Is this just for a single room or a larger area?
We installed heat pumps in our house several years ago and the cooling aspect of them has been the biggest advantage to use. Allowed us to stop using any window models and now have whole house cooling.
We are in Southern Maine so perhaps a bit different needs than someone in a hotter climate but this has worked well for us and should (knock on wood) have a decent lifetime and could be serviif needed.

we're due for one too--we will purchase based on what our local guy sells and can easily repair. I know that's not what you asked, but in a small town like mine, this is the best way to shop imo. as it is now, when a part breaks we have to spend hundreds on an obsolete part that they have to source from wherever they can find one, which are not their usual channels.

I'm not sure what those are. It's usually smart enough to know when it's out of beans and just tells you to fill up before it'll run a cup.

These look like the National (Panasonic) fans that my grandmother has. Similar body style and grille pattern too

Yes we had one of those when I was a kid! I'm sure my mom threw it away at some point because it looked "old".

If your budget is $150/ea and you are looking to match the AE walnut I recommend looking at their basic wide dress belt. It's just over the 1.25" width (1.38") but would match the shoes nicely. As for BIFL, had to say but for the frequency your wearing it you should be good for many years.

I second this. Just make sure you get or add a “remineralization” filter to the end of the system before the faucet. RO filters are so good at filtering they produce nearly distilled water void of any ions or minerals. ( terrible for making coffee )… and not super great for you.
Even if the device you get comes with one… add another one to the end of the chain!

Had these growing up. My big sister had the blue and I was so jealous lol. Great fans! We had no AC and I survived childhood because of them.
My naturally curly hair…not so much.

You may have had it since 1987, but your cat had it ever since you gave it to your cat the day you got him, along with anything else you own. Haha, F for your loss.

The gray one would have been early, possibly mid 90s, then they redesigned it entirely and started switching over to plastic guards and whatnot. Yours is still just as good.

They are one of the best fans ever made alongside some Japanese fans of the time, they last forever.

We use these two all the time! The exact same ones, one blue and one brown one. They don’t look as new as yours but damn if they don’t work like brand new, best fans I’ve ever used!

I have some old blue fans, they have the exact same base and blades, but a different cage, logo and center design element. I believe they were KDKs. And you're not lying when you say they're powerful. The 'desk sized' one of my pair easily outperforms standing fans meant for entire rooms. I can't run the bigger one above setting one without getting cold or having stuff blow off my desk.
Funny since even the gradient on the buttons matches.
I'll dig them up for some pictures.

Great idea; sorry I didn't think of including that info.
I live in the Southern US, whole house unit - single story house.
