Gotcha. Seems most larger companies are going all single hand the last 10-15 years. But our west here, it’s tough to get slick singlehands on alloys so rigs are starting to become more prevalent. I’ve been in the rig market for about 25 years, so I’ve seen a bit of change. MT, WY, CO, ND are still pretty good markets for trucks due to remote projects and rental equipment availability. Hope you are happy in the trade!

Try a Leaf! It has a pivoting head and makes for a really comfortable shave on the bikini line. I had a Merkur before and felt the same as you and switched back to disposables. No matter how careful I was I couldn't get as good a shave as I wanted in that area. I've had the Leaf for a year now, and it was a game changer. I've not even nicked myself once with it.
Edit: Just don't expect much from the Leaf blades. They're okay for like one shave before they dull. Grab some Astras or Nacets.

Down lasts like 5-6 years…
And something being made of oil byproducts is nothing to fear. So is Vaseline and the capsules you swallow with pills. All depends on what the chemical makeup is.

Is it white? My grandmother has the same one she’s had it since the 90s as well.

The Ego, you mean obviously. Honda has a monster throw.
That’s a pity. I was hoping they’d have improved more the way EV cars have.
Just to confirm, we’re talking about the 2 stage Ego snowblower, right? That have a single stage which is seriously weak; it was their first try and it really didn’t do much.
Edit: I have an Aries 28” that I’ve had for 6 years. I’ve had to replace belts and obviously change oil but it has worked relatively well. I have been eyeing going electric with my mower and snowblower. Mowers are about there but super pricey and snowblowers - well, I’m not sure about them.
If I were buying a snowblower knowing what I know now, I’d buy a Honda over an Ariens. They just last forever - as close to BIFL as you can get.

I'm sure you know, but there is a difference between 304 and 304L, 316 and 316L as well

I got a Merkur for me and each of my brothers. At the time I got 100 blades for myself. It’s been almost 10 years and I still have some new blades left. My brother told me he was going back to “regular cartridges” I wonder how much more he’s spent over the years.

We literally just discovered Nirvanna Designs and their stuff is amazing. It’s all handmade in Nepal for fair wages. Everything is 100% wool and most are lined with fleece. Seems super high quality. They were at a holiday market in NYC and we both bought hats, scarves and mittens. My hubby got a baseball cap style. There may be a tiny tag but no logo. Mostly neutral colors.

Foam offgasses and is mostly made of petroleum byproducts. Not great to spend a third of your day on.

There is a super similar razor- the Pearl Flexi. Very well made (CNC machined brass & nickel plated). It is a fraction of the price at ~$80USD. Comes with a stand and 50 blades.

It's amazing how the red LEDs that form the numbers fade on some of these clock-radios over the decades while others seem to go on like new.

Just bought pillow cube pillows on black Friday after reading some recommendations on this sub. I'm a side and back sleeper (go to sleep on my side and wake up either on my back or my side). So far I haven't had any issues and neither has my wife. We've both had respiratory infections since the day before they got here so our nights haven't been very sleep filled regardless.

I still have a 2007/2008 Sony Bravia Flat Screen TV going strong. Even a MINiDV Camcorder from the same time period is still working. Love Sony! Only wish they still had ample variety of electronics like they once did.

yeah chrome sux. you never know when it's going to start flaking and you find out when it cuts your face up. not deep cuts but they scratch you up pretty bad. if that happens you have to hit your razor with some fine sandpaper to get rid of the chrome burrs.
