How so? I have both (also the NB20000, but I don’t EDC the latter), gave my wife the gen 1, she absolutely loves it. She’s a much heavier power bank user than I am (her iPhone X battery is on its last legs) and her previous Anker 20,000mAh power bank was a real boat anchor in her purse. The UI in the Gen 2 is improved, it has those natty yellow ports and slightly higher output.

He complains of durability of the ports, and I can see that. I take good care of my gear and must be the only person on the planet who doesn’t have ripped Apple charge cables despite their inadequate strain relief, whereas my wife and daughter are much rougher on their gear, so that might be worth considering in Anker vs Nitecore.

Not sure where you're located but I suggest you check and see if your town has a local yarn shop! You could go with your knitter friend and pick something out with them. I knit and anecdotally I can say the smaller local places I've visited (both in my hometown and out) seemed to more consistently have the really nice stuff, and are more likely to have knowledgeable employees happy to help match a yarn to a pattern.

(The big box stores in my area like joanns and michaels seem to carry mostly acrylic and acrylic wool blends, I've never seen 100% wool there.)

Yeah, oil lamps are great tools for emergency situations. When the power goes out, flashlights are nice, but might not always work. An oil lamp will never fail you unless it gets physically broken. You can fill an oil lamp with fuel, and leave it for 50 years. Then when you go to light it, it will still work.

Aladdin Lamps are where it's at with kerosene emergency lighting. They put out the same amount of light as a 75 watt light bulb.

I love old oil lamps. I have a couple English duplex lamps that light up the room nicely during power outages. They generate a good amount of heat too.
