I like everything about Nitecore, except I’d prefer 5w charging for my use case. Do you know the specs for the “low current” charging feature? Does the powerbank auto detect, or can you manually enable to slow charge if you’re not in a rush?

Good to know! The only piece on this bag that has failed is the little piece of velcro that holds the main compartment's loose stuff towards the front of the compartment. It doesn't effect functionality much so I've just ignored it. I'm glad to know that they will probably fix it!

Also, north face will replace the zippers (because they're usually what breaks) for less than $20. They will also replace torn panels for cheap from other reclaimed pieces.

My parents have one they bought in 1980 when we lived in the US and it still keeps things cold for days if you pack it closely enough. It’s a beast! I remember using it as a bench at the beach when I was a kid. Good times.

I would probably get her a zojirushi thermos or, if it's something that she might find useful, an electric lunchbox!

Does it make that squeaky sound when you open it?

I got a North Face Jester in 2006 and I eventually gave it to my brother. He still uses it daily.

I have a north face backpack as well (different model) that I’ve been using almost daily for 10+ years. The bottle holders on the sides have tears in them but other than that it’s still in near perfect condition.

I’ve got a Yavapai from the same vintage, still kicking, BIFL all day.

And buy the oldest one that is too heavy to lift and get it recovered.

I priced them out once. I’m not sure I can justify paying like 30k for a couch.

Agree - my Flexsteel couch and loveseat are 25+ years old. No cushion sagging or distortion of any kind - the shape is like new.
Just go for a classic upholstery option that won’t look dated in 20 years.

If you're looking for BIFL, head to a commercial furniture store (where they sell the couches in bank lobbies and the such).

I have a North Face jacket, the zip sticks all the time, I so regret buying it.
