I own a similar one for 5 years, the heat retaining is great. My only complain is the stains on the lid. I only drink water with it, but the plastic part (I guess that’s silicone) on the lid that’s attaching the opening has black dots overtime, and I can’t wash it off somehow. Both vinegar and baking soda don’t work. Then my friend who bought together with me told me he has the same issue. I’m wondering if it’s just us, and anyways to clean it up?

I believe their use of 'Zuri' is just them shortening Zojirushi.

He means the og design and patent and correct way is grounds on top.

I hear what you’re saying, but I still think it’s valid to know. Particularly if you’re interested in choosing the lesser of evils, as Nestle ranks pretty high on the scum list.

I mostly mentioned this for other people who might be thinking about this purchase, since nowhere does it say the wife mentioned here even likes coffee. We don’t know anything about other than she’s married and teaches, and this whole thread is random ideas.

Finally, it seems unlikely that a teacher would be allowed to have a personal coffee maker in their classroom, which means any coffee maker - however ethical or fancy - would be kept at home and used by everyone in the household. In my opinion, that makes this gift a gift for the “house,” not the wife, and should therefore be purchased together as a family and separate from personal gifts.

Teacher here! We are one profession that gets consumed with our job being our identity / personality. I encourage you not to get her teacher related gifts for holidays unless she specifically asks for it. Water and nurture her other interests and hobbies because she will lose herself in this job and need reminders that she is more than a teacher.

For folks wanting to avoid "made in China" LC, Staub, and Made In are all built in France. Head over to Germany and Merten and Stock is the leader. All these have high manufacturing standards and high marks on testing.

I own LC and Made In and love working with both. The LC was a gift and i didn't want to spend that kind of money when I got another. Also I see LC went to a Plastic knob which is suspect at their price

The ground pin being at the top or bottom depends on what direction the outlet is orientated, it has nothing to do with this product. If the outlet is installed ground up, so will this protector sit that way.

I had one also same model the way it failed was I lost it or someone stole it 😂 I have another one now an I had the other for 5 years and worked as good as it did day 1.

Also try local auctions and Goodwills. My last washer was an old Kenmore from Goodwill that lasted another 11 years until the transmission went out. And its replacement, commercial GE, from an auction of an appliance store.

Depending on the model you can order replacement parts (cap, gaskets, etc) to keep it going and looking strong. Unfortunately I lose mine a lot of the times but I have one that's almost a decade old. I have other Zojirushi products that are 20+ years old. Definitely a buy it for life company

Seriously. Not made for office/home use. Definitely for people that need it to protect their drinks from cold weather. I use mine in conjunction with a small mug and pour out what I need.

Have the exact same model. Bought in late 80's or early 90's. 4 loaves of bread at a time, but only partially mixed. Hand kneed to finish. Never the slightest complaint or repair. Have grinder and slicer attachments which are used regularly too.

Definitely a leather tote it will last and look better as it ages. For all the people saying to buy some expensive refillable pen DONT all supplies like that get borrowed broken or stolen.
