This is done on outlets with metal faceplates because if the faceplate comes loose and falls between the outlet and plug (because of gravity) it will only hit the ground if the ground is at the top. If the ground is at the bottom the metal faceplate is live.

Again, as long as there’s not a metal faceplate there’s no difference. Typically, upside down outlets with plastic faceplates are used to tell you the outlet is controlled by a switch.

As a claims adjuster, I highly recommend eliminating all these in your house that you can. Replace all the ones that you can't get rid of entirely every 5-10 years. And never use them on any sort of appliance. Over 60% of the fires I have worked were caused by an old one of these. They all work just fine until they don't.

Same. 6 hours still too hot. However my 1L carafe only keeps coffee hot for maybe 90 mins. Anyone know why?

Zojirushi has been around for a little over 100 years. They make a lot of different things. Noted for their rice cookers as well.

These things keep coffee at “melt your tongue off” temps for hours!

I don't know anything about shoe types since I usually wear sneakers and don't care about anything else, but thanks for recommendation, palladium shoes look very nice and I would consider buying them if I'll see a pair! ^^

Go to a store that sells work gear for construction. Much more comfortable. If you decide on leather you can buy beeswax or something to keep them dry.

I want one of the hot water dispensers so bad but holy moly that price point is painful for a water dispenser vs a kettle when I don’t need the water kept hot for long periods, just on demand.

I also have this Zojirushi thermos mug and very hot liquids stay very hot all day in mine. Highly recommend.

Little know facts: Zojirushi is THE best. Yeti is overpriced trash.

Hands down a coffee thermos and a drink bottle. Because she'll likely not finish her coffee and it will go cold, so a thermos means it won't!

I have a basket I use to take from class to class (secondary teacher here) which holds all the stuff I need for classes. It's actually a bike basket I think, but has held up super well. Just handy when I don't have a set classroom.

A second monitor for home or office is a good one too. I refuse to work on one screen anymore. So much faster with two.

Subscriptions to things she already uses. I particularly like a website called twinkl (the first thing I have ever paid for - everything else I decided wasn't worth it). Magazine subscriptions are good too.

In france you can go to "surplus militaire", it's a type of stores that sells military equipments. You will find there combats boots, they are brands like Lowa, Magnum etc..

But be aware that depending on models combat boots might be very heavy and not very comfortable... Hiking boots could be a better choice 😉
